Mike Trout's Super Bowl bat message becomes a baseball card

The NFL has infiltrated the world of baseball cards, in one very specific way. Via Angels outfielder Mike Trout's inscription of the Super Bowl LIX final score on the bottom of his bat has become a baseball card. The card shows this writing from Trout: 'Eagles 40, Chiefs 22" and 'Fly Eagles Fly!' It will be included in Topps' upcoming Tier One set. Bat knob cards have become a thing in the collector industry. Which reminds us of the most popular and notorious bat-knob image of all time, when a Billy Ripken card included a glimpse of a bat knob that had two words written on it: 'Fuck Face.' And, yes, the tiebreaker when deciding whether to post a blurb about the Super Bowl bat knob message from Trout was the ability to type the phrase 'Fuck Face' for the first time ever in a PFT item.

Michael Strahan throws Eagles jersey to floor after team jokingly gifted it: 'You wish!'

Nice try, Philadelphia Eagles, but Michael Strahan wasn't too fond of the surprise gift sent his way on "Good Morning America." With the 2025 NFL Draft kicking off in Green Bay Thursday night, the ABC morning show host was jokingly given a green Eagles jersey with the No. 25 and his last name. "Good Morning America" will welcome a few Eagles in studio Friday to promote the team's Autism Foundation, prompting the gag gift for the New York Giants great. Strahan held the jersey up to the camera for everyone at home to see, and what he did next wasn't shocking. "All I can say is, you wish," he shouted before tossing the jersey to the floor. While Giants fans will like this move from Strahan, they weren't too happy with his Fox story leading into February's Super Bowl, which the Eagles won over the Kansas City Chiefs. Strahan was doing a segment with Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley, who he knows well from Barkley's time with the Giants. At the end of the interview, Strahan waved an Eagles flag and performed the famous "Fly Eagles, Fly" chant alongside Barkley. This prompted backlash against Strahan, including from former teammate Amani Toomer, who called it a "shot across the bow" toward the organization. Strahan is a Giants legend with a franchise-record 141½ sacks. He also shares the NFL's single-season sack record at 22½ with Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt. Strahan was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014. Two years later, he joined the "Good Morning America" team as a co-anchor, and he's still heavily involved in the NFL with his role at Fox. What we know about the Philadelphia Eagles' 2025 Super Bowl ring

The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions, an honor that comes with plenty of celebratory hardware. Of course, there's the Lombardi Trophy. And while plenty of players and staff had the chance to hoist the sterling silver prize in the days following Super Bowl LIX, each will get their own blinged-out championship ring to commemorate the dominant victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Let's just hope no one loses theirs in a pool of chili. When will the Philadelphia Eagles' 2025 Super Bowl ring be released? It'll likely be a few months until Philly fans see the final design for the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX championship ring. When Philadelphia won Super Bowl LII, the rings weren't unveiled until June 2018. The process is well underway though. Less than a week after the Super Bowl, the Eagles posted a video on social media of players working with jewelers to get sized for their rings. The team didn't specify which company is creating the rings, or if the jewelers making the real thing are also creating replicas. Last year, the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs followed a similar timeline and also held their ring ceremony in June. What did the Eagles' Super Bowl LII championship rings look like? The Philadelphia Eagles' 2018 Super Bowl rings were made of 10-karat white gold and featured a whopping 219 diamonds, along with 17 genuine green sapphires. One side of the ring featured the final score from the game, where Philadelphia beat the dynastic New England Patriots and Tom Brady 41-33. The ring was also engraved with the team's season-long mantra. "We all we got. We all we need." Other unique details in the ring include an image of the underdog mask, made famous by former center Jason Kelce, the words "Fly Eagles Fly" on the outer band, a silhouette of the Lincoln Financial Field end zone, and the Eagles logo placed over the Lombardi Trophy. A nod to Super Bowl LII, the Eagles' head is filled with 52 pave-set diamonds. And, of course, the ring pays tribute to the now-iconic "Philly Special" with a waterfall of 127 diamonds along the bezel — the combined jersey numbers of quarterback Nick Foles (9), Corey Clement (30) and Trey Burton (88), who carried out the play. Which Eagles players will have two Super Bowl rings? Philadelphia's roster has undergone some major changes over the last several years, but a handful of players were on both the 2018 championship and 2024 championship-winning squads. Brandon Graham Defensive end Brandon Graham, who hinted that Super Bowl LIX would be the last game he played in, was drafted by the Eagles in 2010 and spent his entire NFL career in Philadelphia. Graham almost didn't play in the Super Bowl after leaving in Week 11 with a triceps injury, but he was able to rehab and return for the championship. Lane Johnson Johnson, a five-time Pro-Bowler tackle, is now a two-time Super Bowl champion and will remain in Philadelphia through the 2026 season after signing a contract extension in March of 2023. Jake Elliott Kicker Jake Elliott's first season with Philadelphia ended with a championship ring. During that game in 2018, Elliott kicked the longest field goals by a rookie in Super Bowl history. In Super Bowl LIX, Elliott's clutch performance added 16 points to the Eagles' final score. Rick Lovato

Mountain biker in New Mexico draws Eagles logo, spells out "Go Birds" with special route

Gerald Kady has never been to Philadelphia. In fact, he says the closest professional football stadium to his home in Farmington, New Mexico, is seven hours away. Still, he bleeds green for the Eagles and wouldn't have it any other way. "Cowboys, Broncos, Phoenix, Cardinals, they all surround New Mexico, basically," Kady said. "So you're going to be one of those three teams' fans. So any other fans are just kind of weird, you know? To show off his love for the Birds, the avid mountain biker took a special route. Ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Kady biked more than 27 miles over nearly three hours and mapped out " Go Birds" with the Eagles' logo underneath. He captured the ride on the app "Strava." "I can do a 20-mile trail, and it'll draw a map wherever I ride," Kady said, "so I got that in my head like, 'You know what? I'm going to do something cool." This isn't the first time he's done it, either. In 2018 and 2023, Kady planned out long bike rides to first spell out "Fly Eagles, Fly" and then do "Fly" followed by the Eagles logo before spelling out "Fly" again. "The first year, I used a phone book. I tore a map out of a phone book and just used a pencil to go across and just kind of trace out, you know, the words," Kady said. He then upgraded to using an iPad. Kady notes that he knows the area well because he is a mailman. Part of his route was used in each of the bike rides. "With that in mind and a little bit of creativity and some artistic talent, you can do that same thing," Kady said. After this year's ride, he posted the results to a Philadelphia Eagles Facebook fan group. The post received hundreds of comments and thousands of likes, and he said he was amazed and thankful for all of the support. As for what he wants people to take away from it?

See Bradley Cooper surprise 8-year-old Eagles fan with juvenile arthritis with Super Bowl tickets

This will be a Super Bowl Declan LeBaron won't soon forget. Bradley Cooper surprised the 8-year-old Philadelphia Eagles fan from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, with tickets to the big game Feb. 4 on TODAY. The Oscar-nominated star, who is also an Eagles fan himself, came out while Declan, his parents and brother and sister were being interviewed in order to present him with tickets to the game between the Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, after Declan was featured on the Morning Boost last month. Declan, who will turn 9 the day before the Super Bowl, went viral last month after he appeared in an Instagram video from social media influencer MDMotivator at a Dollar Tree and was asked to choose between taking $1,000 or a mystery Eagles mascot doll. He ended up getting the money and tickets to the NFC championship between the Eagles and Washington Commanders. He shared his money with shoppers at the Dollar Tree where he got the tickets. Declan, who has systemic juvenile arthritis and has been hospitalized 17 times, was discussing how excited he was to be on hand to see the Eagles defeat the Commanders when he explained why he gave away the money, saying on TODAY his teacher had talked about 'paying it forward.' 'It also makes me feel good,' he added. His mom, Jillian, said going to the NFC championship offered a break from the troubles Declan has had. 'For that whole day, we were able to forget about everything he goes through,' she said. 'He's in pain a lot and has to go to the doctors all the time and we were able to just live in the moment and enjoy his fairy tale and dream come true.' Declan, who was wearing the jersey of star Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, then chose the mystery Eagles bird over doing the weather with Dylan Dreyer when Savannah Guthrie gave him the option. After she instructed him to say 'Fly Eagles Fly,' Eagles cheerleaders and a pep band walked out while singing and dancing. A moment later, Cooper raced out onto the set holding oversized tickets. 'You're going to the Super Bowl, baby! Super Bowl! Let's go!' he exclaimed, seconds before confetti rained down. 'Are you guys excited to go to the Super Bowl?' Declan was asked. 'Yes!' he replied, with a huge smile splashed across his face. When Craig Melvin asked if Declan could give his prediction for the score of the game, though, Cooper, who will also be in New Orleans for the Feb. 9 game, playfully stepped in. 'Oh, no! Let's just take it easy,' he said. 'Eagles fans, we're very superstitious,' Savannah said. This article was originally published on
