FBI: International Just Bid a Fly Team Member Adieu — Will You Miss [Spoiler]?

The following contains spoilers from the Feb. 4 episode of CBS' . After teasing us for nearly two months with Special Agent Cameron Vo's possible 'exit,' FBI: International this week actually wrote out a Fly Team member. More from TVLine TVLine Items: Lincoln Lawyer Adds Constance Zimmer, Jelly Roll Joins Idol and More Grammys Draw 2nd-Largest Audience Since 2020, Raise $24 Million for Charities Amber Ruffin to Headline White House Correspondents' Dinner - But Will Donald Trump Attend? Or, at least an honorary team member. This season's 11th episode, titled 'Keep Calm and Deliver the Biotoxin,' saw Raines, Smitty and Tyler Booth (played by Station 19 alum Jay Hayden, who joined the CBS drama a few episodes ago) tasked with protecting the daughter of a Russian biochemist as she transported a briefcase that was cuffed to her wrist and contained her father's highly sensitive biotoxins research, to a trusted American microbiologist. Ahead of this mission, Tyler shared with good friend Wes that he was finally up for a GS-14 promotion — and if he gets it, he plans to get stationed back in the States, much closer to his daughter. But what Tyler did not realize was that when the bureau said they'd be checking in with his supervisor, they meant Smitty. Tyler worried, aloud to Smitty during a train ride with the biochemist's daughter, that she would reveal the rule or two that he bent during the Paris mission, where among other things he with Wes busted into a civilian's apartment without a warrant. Smitty told Tyler that she would not volunteer that damning information, but neither would she participate in a lie that, if found out, would jeopardize her own career. After getting an earful from Tyler about how all he wanted to was to be closer to his daughter, Smitty later informed him that he had nothing to worry about, because she was going to ask off the Fly Team and thus remove herself from the equation. After all, she half-heartedly told herself, Wes is running things fine, and she is just 'a fly in the ointment.' And to that end, she emailed in her resignation. At episode's end, back at HQ — after Smitty valiantly safeguarded the deadly biotoxin by (somewhat recklessly!) taping the vials to her tummy — she went to confirm that Wes got her email. He feigned that he had not, then asked her to sit down. For one, he has no intention of letting her walk away. 'Things are finally working' all this time after Scott's disappearing act, he noted. Plus she keeps him in check. Also, Tyler withdrew himself from GS-14 consideration, but is still heading back to the States. So the team raised a glass (courtesy of one of Tate's many booze stashes) to Tyler before he left. Afterward, Smitty caught up with him in the lobby, to discuss his sacrifice. He sweetly explained that 'friends are harder to come by than jobs.' Smitty acknowledged that sentiment by arranging for Tyler to be surprised upon his arrive home, by his daughter whom she had flown in — and who also would pay her dad a visit each semester. 'Welcome Home, Your Friend, Smitty' read a note Tyler found on the table. 'FBI: International' Star Vinessa Vidotto Reacts to That Shocking Midseason Cliffhanger (Exclusive)

After an agonizing month and a half wait, FBI: International has finally revealed the fate of Agent Cameron Vo (Vinessa Vidotto), and it's good news for all of us! Despite being shot near her collarbone, losing a ton of blood, nearly dying of an infection and enduring multiple lifesaving surgeries, Vo pulled through in the end, much to the relief of her exhausted coworkers. 🤩 📺 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter & get the scoop on the latest TV news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🤩🎥 In the midseason finale back in December, the Fly Team thought they had burgeoning supervillain Greg Csonka in their clutches, and that they were about to get justice for Wes Mitchell's (Jesse Lee Soffer) dead friend. Csonka, of course, had other plans, as a sniper shot Vo while he escaped. The winter premiere picked up where that episode left off, with Vo's life hanging in the balance while the Fly Team fought with territorial international law enforcement to chase Csonka down. Things got worse before they got better. Raines (Carter Redwood) realized it was time to use Vo's list of people to call if something happened to her, and revealed that they each had the other's list. Before he could get to it, Raines was taken by Csonka for his FBI credentials, and Tate (Christina Wolfe) had to find both Vo and Raines' lists. Raines managed to lead the team to his location, and the whole thing ended with Mitchell and Booth (Jay Hayden) chasing Csonka on foot. Mitchell shot him after a little last-minute taunting, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when doctors confirmed that Vo was in recovery. So what happens next for Vo, and does that emotional reminder of her closeness with Raines mean their will they/won't they vibes are back on? Read on for Vidotto's reaction to the drama and a few teases for what's coming up in the back half of this season of FBI: International. Related: What was it like to read through this storyline and discover you were getting a little time off? It was an epic script, and I loved that it was a three-parter. I was down for it. A couple of our main cast have been shot in the past, and it's always something heartwrenching for the team; they go through it together. So that's always a nice moment, even though it's unfortunate. There's a dual feeling that happens when something like this goes down: Shocked and excited and intrigued. The script was written so well by Edgar Castillo and it was directed so well by Michael Cattleman, and it was so fun to do the interrogation scenes with Csonka. He's so good, so menacing. He felt like a worthwhile adversary for a storyline like this. Yes. Good writing, good villain. It was just epic. It's like if I'm gonna go down, that's how I want to go down. Did you get any warning that this was coming? Nope. That's terrifying. When we read the scripts, we're like "No, stop!" [When I read the midseason finale], I was like, "I guess it's my turn. I volunteer as tribute." So you're not even in this midseason premiere. Have you seen it, or did you read the script? So I actually did not read [Episode 9]. I did it on purpose, because you read every script and then you perform it. I just watch movies through the eyes of an actor now. I just kind of wish that I could take that away. I just want to enjoy it, but sometimes you get too picky and things like that. I was like, "Oh my god, I'm not going to read this. I just want to see what my castmates do, and I want to enjoy it not as a cast member." I'm still going to watch it as an actor, but at least it's one step away from being too inside of it. So honestly, I know the gist of it, but I want to see where it goes. I want to be on the ride with the audience. Whenever we do see you again, how does this affect Vo? Does she take some time to recover or is the show moving too fast for that? Yes, correct. It's a fast-paced show, but Vo's also very resilient and very hungry, and she's not one to sit back and relax. I think the Fly Team is a special type of team to be out in Europe and doing all these things, and the Fly Team is actually a real team that operates in Europe. I think she's not gonna be down for long any time soon. Related: Does it affect her emotionally at all? I'm sure it does. And if the writers wanted to expand on that, they could. But I think she's very resilient. She moves forward; she's glad she's alive. She's had two teammates in the past get shot, and I think she's witnessed how they handle it. And I think she has this higher purpose of, like, "I've got to be there for my team. They were there for her, and let's not dwell about it." This episode had some reminders that Vo and Raines are super close, but there haven't been many scenes with them this season. Is that changing?I think this season, the focus is on Wes because he's new to the team. So I think it's all about getting to know him and seeing how the team interacts with him. I obviously have a past connection with him, because he was my training mentor. It morphs and evolves. And I think the friendship between Raines and Smitty got a lot closer last season when she went through finding out who her real dad was, and he's been there for Amanda as well. We'll see. So their friendship isn't special? Don't they have a shipper name? They do. Carter knows. He's on Twitter. He knows when we just give a look in a scene, or a fist bump, it goes on, and there are these names. Carter knows. OK, well we've been waiting for somebody to flirt with somebody. It's been a while on this show. Wes is single, right? And Jay said there .That's a Jay answer for sure. That is a Jay answer. We'll see, we'll see. I know, but I don't know at the same time. We'll just have to see. Well other than that, how would you describe the back half of the season? I'm telling you, it sounds so cheesy to say, but it just gets more epic and crazy. I can tell you it gets bigger, and I'm not just saying that. No, it gets bigger, bigger than…not that you can ever downsize after you do these episodes four years in. You can't get smaller. Ask the writers. They've got ideas, and our production team, they've got locations. And maybe things that you've been waiting for, maybe they will start to emerge. FBI: International airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.

FBI: International's Vinessa Vidotto Opens Up About Vo's Fate (‘It Was a Surprise') and the One Scene She Will ‘Never Forget'

The following contains spoilers from the Jan 28 winter premiere of CBS' . Fans of FBI: International's Special Agent Cameron Vo were really put through the wringer this winter, having to wait six long weeks to see if she would survive being shot during the fall finale's manhunt for Greg Csonka. More from TVLine Exclusive Tracker Trailer: First Look at Colter Shaw's Return in Midseason Premiere - Here's When It Airs FBI's John Boyd Talks 'Emotional' Scola Story - and Improving on That NCIS: LA Chase Scene Pet Peeve NCIS: Origins' Kyle Schmid Talks Launch of Franks' 'Heart-Wrenching' Backstory, Monday-Night Watch Parties With Wife Caity Lotz And even when the winter premiere rolled around on Tuesday night, the outlook was not good. Vo was 'stable,' the surgeon reported at the top of the hour, 'but to due to extensive soft tissue damage near her collarbone, the frisk of infection is extremely high. And 'if an infection does take hold, especially in that area…,' well, the doctor couldn't even bring herself to finish that thought. When all was said and done, some 40 minutes (and the fatal shooting of Csonka later), Raines, Smitty et al got the good word from Celeste, who was camped out at the hospital. 'Cameron is in recovery. She's going to be OK!' The Fly Team raised a glass to that news, and so did we, at least in spirit. Here, original cast member Vinessa Vidotto opens up about sweating out V's fate herself, and more. TVLINE | When you received the script for the previous episode, where Vo gets shot, were you given a heads-up on where this was going on, what her arc would be?Nope. Nope. [Laughs] Yeah. It was a surprise. [Laughs more] TVLINE | Oh my God…It's shocking. It's exciting. I was intrigued, because the way I went down was worth it, because it was such a good script, it was so delicious. And it wasn't hard to perform. There are some challenging days as an actor if the scene is difficult or whatever it may be, but those scenes that I got to do before he 'kills' me/shoots me, I was like, 'OK, that's the way I want to go down. Worth it!' TVLINE | When we come back in the next episode, is there going to be a bit of a time jump, or will Vo be riding a desk for a bit? Her injury was pretty severe,There's going to be a time jump. With this show and with what the Fly Team is, we move very fast and you've got to move on. It's like SEAL Team Six, if you cant recover quickly and you're not mentally strong to recover, then I think you can't be on the Fy Team. You have to be very resilient and move forward. Of course, it would be nice to see the recovery and vulnerable moments, but… Vo is also just hungry. She can't sit around, she wants to help in any way she can. She feels like maybe she's got to prove herself again. But maybe she's too hard on herself? TVLINE | The team was so worried about her. Poor Raines was on edge!I know. I know. I saw that scene where they're all watery-eyed outside the hospital. I was not expecting that because I was inside the hospital, laying on the ambulance bed. I didn't know what they were filming out there, so when I watched that I was like, 'Oh!' TVLINE | Is Vo changed at all by this cheating of death? Will there be any PTS?I don't know if we'll see it, but as with anybody I'm sure that if you've been shot and almost died, that affects you in some way. You'll see life in a very different way. TVLINE | Your co-stars all got a field trip to France for this episode? They did! TVLINE | But you , since you were not in I could have [gone to France] but I went back to L.A. to stock up on deodorant that you can't get over here in Europe and what not. TVLINE | The 'good stuff'?The good stuff. TVLINE | What else can you tease about the back half of the season?Just that it's bigger and better. I know every show says that, and everybody says that, but I kid you not it gets bigger and crazier, because it's FBI: International. And once you go big, you can't go smaller. And there's just so much opportunity out here in Europe to do wild, crazy storylines. You saw in [Episode] 8 a fire truck literally rammed into a cop car. Like, who gets to write that? 'Yeah, I want a fire truck to hit a police car.' 'Yes, we can do that, for network TV.' Crazy. TVLINE | Is there any early buzz on the finale? Any gossip? No. And if I knew, I wouldn't tell you. TVLINE | Let's see, you already blew up the team's headquarters…. And for last season's finale—We were on a ski jump! [The finale was filmed on location at the Olympic ski jump site in Holmenkollbakken]. We were in Oslo on a legit ski jump. And there was wind. Real wind. But then we also had the fans going, so it was wind on wind. I was like, 'That's a wind-wind situation!' [Laughs] And it was raining, so the rain was slanted, right? And then there was a huge helicopter [added later with VFX], so we have to, like, 'shoot' at it, and our director was like holding his little monitor, jumping around. I'm not in that shot for that one, so me and Carter [Redwood] are in the back just cracking up. We were like, 'I cannot believe this is our job.' We're on a ski jump in Norway, our director is jumping up and down like crazy, we're pretending there's a helicopter in the sky, we have these guns…. It was so funny and amazing and something I will never of TVLine Yellowjackets' Tawny Cypress Talks Episode 4's Tai/Van Reunion: 'We're All Worried About Taissa' Vampire Diaries Turns 10: How Real-Life Plot Twists Shaped Everything From the Love Triangle to the Final Death Vampire Diaries' Biggest Twists Revisited (and Explained)
