Trio arrested in Fond du Lac County after nearly 18-mile pursuit, drove on airport's taxiway
(WFRV) – Following a nearly 18-mile police chase that included places like the Fond du Lac County Airport, I-41 and Highway 151, three people were arrested.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, on May 19, around 8 a.m., a deputy saw a vehicle on I-41 that was reportedly previously involved in a police chase in Grand Chute. When the deputy turned on their emergency lights, the vehicle allegedly started to flee on Highway 151.
During the pursuit, additional deputies joined the chase. The release says the Fond du Lac County Communications Center got a 911 call from a passenger in the suspect vehicle.

The caller reportedly was 'screaming for help' and asking to be let out of the vehicle.
At one point, the vehicle reportedly left the road and went into a ditch before coming back on the road and hitting a sheriff's squad car. However, the vehicle reportedly regained control and headed toward the Fond du Lac County Airport.
The vehicle did end up going onto airport property and onto a taxiway. Authorities say the vehicle left airport property by driving through a field and tried getting back onto I-41.
A PIT maneuver by authorities ended up getting the vehicle under control. Two passengers and the driver were taken into custody.
The release says a follow-up investigation revealed the occupants of the vehicle were thinking about getting into a shootout with law enforcement during the chase.
A K9 later ending up finding a backpack in a swampy area that contained drug paraphernalia. Additionally, a loaded handgun that was allegedly thrown from the vehicle just before the chase ended was found.
