Award-winning ramen shop to close after nearly a decade in RiNo due to rising costs

DENVER (KDVR) — A popular ramen house in Denver is closing its doors after nearly a decade. The Denver Post named Osaka Ramen the best ramen in Denver in 2024, but due to rising costs, Denverites only have a couple more weeks to try the award-winning noodle soup. Yelp: These Denver restaurants among best in US for date night Osaka Ramen serves both traditional and non-traditional ramen, with a variety of broth and protein options. The menu also includes bento boxes, sides and desserts. The restaurant announced on Wednesday that it will close its doors for good in less than two weeks. 'The decision to close comes amid significant challenges facing Denver's restaurant industry, including rising ingredient costs, an evolving economic landscape, and the mandated tip credit on top of a high minimum wage,' the restaurant said in a statement provided to FOX31. Colorado restaurants, hotels and spas won Forbes Travel Guide 2025 Star Awards Osaka Ramen opened in the fall of 2015 and has been one of Denver's most popular ramen shops since. The restaurant said it is known for its creative takes on classics and Japanese small plates. 'Osaka Ramen has been a labor of love since 2015, and we're beyond grateful for every slurp, every late-night visit, and every shared meal that made this place feel like home,' The restaurant is located at 2611 Walnut St., and chef Jeff Osaka encourages locals to slurp down one more bowl before its doors close for good on Feb. 23.
