"Nobody wants it": Fans Freak Out Over Latest Fortnite Festival Headliner Rumor
Image via: Epic Games With this season of Fortnite Festival ending soon on June 17, anticipation is high for what's to come next. A recent leak that electronic music producer Deadmau5 would headline the upcoming season has set off a remarkable negative reaction from the community. Deadmau5 Rumored as Headliner — But Not Everyone's On Board The leak, posted today by reputable Fortnite leakers alleges that Deadmau5 will be introducing brand-new cosmetics to the Festival mode, including a custom keytar and drum set. While that might seem like a fun one-off, high-octane addition to some, safety advocates are sounding the alarm. One user commented, 'Nobody wants it,' a comment that represented many of the comments on multiple threads. Even with Deadmau5's international fame and massive live performance presence, which has drawn as many comparisons to new headliners Marshmello and old headliner Daft Punk, the announcement just hasn't been resonating with much of Fortnite's player community. One of the largest reasons for the lukewarm reception appears to be based on what the community expected from T-Pain. After his ultra-publicized debut in a silly Fortnite 'docuseries' back in Chapter 6 Season 2, fans have been clamoring for a sequel ever since. It was what a lot of people imagined would be his stage for the next Festival. What's Next for the Fortnite Festival? Though Epic Games has yet to formally announce Deadmau5's addition, everything certainly suggests a June 18 debut for the new Festival season, the day after the current one ends. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo If this rumor turns out to be correct, players can look forward to receiving a new Festival Pass, themed cosmetics, and Jam Tracks from the helmeted DJ himself. Sabrina Carpenter is our Fortnite Festival Season 8 Icon! Meanwhile, Fortnite, Chapter 7 of their game is letting electronic music stage the comeback of a lifetime. Insiders say it would help inherit its trailblazing history of unprecedented multi-genre virtual concerts in public video gaming spaces. With past seasons bringing major artists such as Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, and Eminem, the standard has already been established and fans are surely hoping for another amazing chapter. Until then, one thing is for sure, Epic Games has one hell of a tough crowd to win over this time around.

Fortnite and Sabrina Carpenter want you to come dance
Fortnite 's ongoing Sabrina Carpenter-themed Festival season is about to switch it up by inviting players to test their rhythm game skills. Today, Epic announced the impending arrival of 'Dance with Sabrina,' a new rhythm-focused gaming mode within Fortnite Festival that will run from May 30th to June 16th. Described as a 'reimagined interactive music experience,' Dance with Sabrina will challenge players within the Festival Jam Stage to fill up their heart meters by matching the beat of some of Carpenter's songs like 'Espresso' and 'Bed Chem' as her avatar performs them on stage. By racking up the most hearts, Festival players will be able to 'contribute to the show' during the next song in one of three roles: Dance Leader, Special Effects Pro, or Video Artist. Players who match the most beats throughout the entire event will be pictured along with Carpenter's avatar in the Dance With Sabrina finale snapshot. Some Just Dance -style dancing would have been very cool to see in Fortnite, but Dance with Sabrina sounds a bit more like timed button mashing with some emoting thrown in for pizazz. That doesn't exactly seem like the most entertaining prospect, but this is part of how Epic figures out what works, and what doesn't.

Sabrina Carpenter ‘Sent for a Loop' Over NSFW Edits of Fortnite Avatar: ‘Very Weird to Know'
Sabrina Carpenter has had a huge year as chart-topping pop star and also became one of the faces of Fortnite, earning her the coveted status of an in-game skin, but a source exclusively tells Life & Style the 'Please Please Please' singers' digital honor has quickly descended into a nightmare as reprobate fans began creating explicit memes, animation and content using her avatar. 'They are putting her avatar in freaky positions, it's not good,' the insider reveals. 'She's already coming under fire for being too sexy. The last thing she needs is to have teenagers using her avatar in a sexual way.' The digitized in-game version of Sabrina, 25, was added to the massively popular game in April 2024 as part of a larger Fortnite Festival event that also saw skins of Billie Eilish and The Weeknd made available. They joined the company of other A-list singers, like Travis Scott, Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga, to be featured in the same way. The 'Espresso' singer's addition to the game was noted as a huge milestone as her red-hot career takes off. 'It's also very weird to know people are doing this with a cartoon of her,' the insider explains. 'People around her are saying that this shouldn't be allowed to happen, but there's really no way to stop it.' Sabrina has long faced criticism and backlash for the overt sexuality in her music and performances, a fact that the source notes is making the disturbing fan art and manipulated game footage from Fortnite all the more stressful of a situation to deal with. Embodying the confidence and look of a 1950s pin-up girl on tour and coming out with steamy music videos like 'Feather,' Sabrina has always pushed back against the notion that embracing her femininity is something to be ashamed of, but that doesn't mean others won't see a sexually open woman as threatening and an easy target. 'My message has always been clear — if you can't handle a girl who is confident in her own sexuality, then don't come to my shows,' she told The Sun in response to criticism of her dancing while on tour. 'Female artists have been shamed forever. In the noughties it was Rihanna, in the nineties it was Britney Spears, in the eighties it was Madonna — and now it's me.' 'I've always felt really empowered by being a woman in pop,' Sabrina explained to Rolling Stone in an interview published in June 2024. 'But that doesn't mean it's easy.' 'She just has to try and ignore it until it blows over because there's no recourse,' the source adds. 'Sabrina's been in the business for most of her life, so she's seen a lot when it comes to fans, but this is something that she has never experienced and it's really sent her for a loop.' 'Her team has been rallying around her and promising to help shut this down,' the insider adds, 'but it still remains to be seen if there's anything they can do about it because this isn't as simple as getting the game to fix a glitch.'

Sabrina Carpenter Is Headlining ‘Fortnite Festival' Season 8
It looks like Fortnite is about to get a shot of espresso. Rumors have long been swirling that leakers found evidence that Sabrina Carpenter was set to make her way to the game by way of first looks at official items. Then, as recently as Friday, Epic Games themselves fanned the flames with a post on the official Fortnite X page teasing an April 8 release date for something Sabrina Carpenter-related. But we now know exactly what the details are. Revealed in a blog post on the official Fortnite website, the two-time Grammy winner will officially headline Fortnite Festival Season Eight beginning on April 8. Festival is the Rock Band-like game mode that lives within the larger Fortnite ecosystem and lets up to four players perform together online. Carpenter joins previous Festival headliners, including Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and even Metallica. More from Rolling Stone How 'Minecraft' Conquered Gaming and Beyond Ahead of the Switch 2 Release, the Nintendo Switch 1 Is Marked Down Online 'South of Midnight' Is an Unflinching Fantasy Steeped in Southern Folklore By unlocking the Season Eight Music Pass, players can access a ton of new Carpenter-inspired content, including new Jam Tracks 'Juno' and 'Nonsense,' which are fully playable as performances with others in Festival. Of course, the biggest selling point is the ability to play as Sabrina herself, who comes with two skins (each with two color variations) based on outfits from her recent Short n' Sweet tour. Upon purchasing the music pass, players will immediately be granted the primary Carpenter outfit, as well as the Lego-fied version for the Lego Fortnite mode, featuring the yellow babydoll the singer famously wore on tour. By earning XP to climb the rungs of the battle pass, players can unlock multiple new guitars and a variation of the main Carpenter outfit. Alternatively, in the Fortnite shop, a secondary outfit dubbed 'Tour-Ready' will also be available alongside a slew of new choreographed dance emotes, new back bling, and a mics. Purchasing a bundle will unlocked all of these non-Music Pass items and other previous Jam Tracks, including 'Espresso' and 'Feather' will also be available in the store. To purchase a music pass (or battle pass, or anything really) in Fortnite requires V-Bucks, the game's virtual currency. 1,000 V-Bucks is $8.99, meaning the 1,400 V-Bucks needed for the Fortnite Festival season 8 comes to just under $13. V-Bucks are also obtainable by playing any Fortnite mode and progressing through its daily and weekly challenges. Carpenter joining Fortnite means she'll be immortalized as a cartoony caricature usable across all the game's new modes. Recently, artists like Chappell Roan have expressed a desire to become part of the game, whose early works with artists like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande led to some of the biggest virtual concerts in gaming. Since launching in late 2023, Fortnite Festival has been its own dedicated music-oriented space within the Fortnite client, bringing in a new headlining artist every three months or so. The current season is headlined by virtual pop star Hatsune Miku and ends on April 8, turning over to the Carpenter mini era. More details on all of the major seasonal updates, including non-Carpenter-related items in the shop and battle pass, as well as technical updates and patch notes, can be found on Epic's blog post. Fortnite is free-to-play and available to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Windows, macOS, and was recently announced to be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
