Springfield City council hears bill that would update land development code
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Monday night, Springfield City Council heard the first reading of a bill that would update the community land development code.
Essentially, this bill would update the zoning map of Springfield as part of the Forward SGF plan. The last time the community land development code was updated was in 1995.
All property owners will get a notice of whether or not their property will be impacted.

Several articles of the land code would be merged with a goal of beautification and flexibility in public improvements.
However, some speakers at the meeting were concerned that the plan is forgetting about middle housing, while others said there is an amendment coming that would include that.
The rezoning bill is expected to be voted on during the city council meeting on Monday, March 24.
