Fire destroys home in Davenport
Firefighters battled a house fire in Davenport on Wednesday morning. Our crew on the scene saw smoke coming from a house in the 2700 block of Esplanade Avenue. The house appears to have been completely destroyed. The fire broke out around 6 a.m., but there's no word yet on what caused it or if anyone was inside at the time. This is a developing story. 2 buildings on fire in Reynolds
Crews from multiple departments are fighting a fire in Reynolds. It started in one of the buildings before 11 a.m. and spread to a second. One of the buildings used to be a laundromat 'years ago,' according to someone at the scene, and now houses apartments. Fire departments that responded include Aledo, Coal Valley, Sherrard, Coyne Center, Andalusia, Illinois City, as well as the Blackhawk Fire Protection District in Milan. This is a developing story. Water main break in Davenport slows traffic
A water main break is causing some issues for the morning commute in Davenport. It broke it in the area of Kimberly Road and Division Street just before 8 a.m. Our Quad Cities News saw crews salting roads near the intersection. Due to how cold it is, the water gushing out is freezing pretty quickly onto the road. Traffic is moving slowly through there right now, but it looks like crews might shut down part of that area.
