Brendan Fevola's huge real estate play pays off
Brendan Fevola jumping on the bed has helped sell a Parkville apartment to a devoted Blues fan. The Carlton forward from 1999-2009 also played a season with the Brisbane Lions in a 204-game career that included two NAB Cup premierships, two Coleman Medals and three pics for the All-Australian Team — as well as being inducted into the Carlton Football Club Hall of Fame. Now a successful breakfast radio host for Fox FM alongside Fifi Box and Nick Cody, Fevola was earlier this year asked to help promote a Parkville apartment that had lingered on the market for 148 days in 2024. T he double-storey address high above The Avenue was then taken over by OBrien Real Estate's John Rombotis, who played AFL with the Fitzroy Lions, Port Adelaide and Richmond. At the same time as relaunching the home for sale in March, Rombotis arranged a video with Fevola promoting the home for sale. In a bizarre twist, the eventual buyer had inspected the property during its previous stint on the market but, being a devoted Blues fan, after hearing Fevola talking about the experience of doing a video for it on the radio and seeing the clip which included Fevola jumping on the bed, renewed their interest in the home. Rombotis said negotiations for the four-bedroom apartment with a view out to Ikon Park in the park opposite had started low, but ended in a deal within the home's $2.9m-$3.2m advertised price guide at the end of its planned sales campaign. The property features Miele and Gaggenau cooking appliances, a stainless-steel kitchen with a butler's pantry, an expansive balcony with CBD skyline views, and a spa bath in the main bedroom's ensuite.

Fox FM radio star shares serious warning as he's left with spinal injuries after being thrown from his motorcycle in horrific car collision: 'Would've saved me a lot of heartache'
Fox FM's Tim Lee has been seriously injured after a motorbike accident saw him break his pelvis. The Workday presenter, who has been with the radio station since 2019, is recovering in hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car on Friday in South Melbourne. The radio personality took to Instagram to share pictures of his recovery while using a bit of comedy and sarcasm to lighten the mood. 'Brain injury, broken fingers, spinal fracture ... None of that happened after a Volkswagen ploughed into me making a turn at full speed without indicating as I was leaving work to enjoy seven days of annual leave!!' Lee joked. However, on a serious note, Tim revealed that the injury to his back was not a laughing matter and that he 'got off lightly'. 'The bruising isn't great, the helmet is cactus, but the broken pelvis is easily the worst part. 0 stars. 'In the scheme of things I got off lightly. Sh*t happens, will just make me even more careful when I get to swing a leg over in 3-4 months.' Tim then thanked his 'radio crew' and everyone who reached out to him following the accident, before warning others who are taking to the roads. 'Everyone; please use your indicators! Would've saved me a lot of heartache. 'It did mean I got to try fentanyl though, so swings and roundabouts...' he quipped. In one photo, Tim could be seen lying on a hospital gurney as he took a selfie in the light above. Other pictures showed the scene of the accident, where his motorcycle lay crumpled on the street in front of a Volkswagen, which had a large dent on the front. Another snap showed the radio presenter smiling in a neck brace as he was surrounded by family. While Lee recovers, he will be covered in the studio by Ellie Angel-Mobbs and Brad Wood. In March, Brendan Fevola shocked his Fox FM co-stars by revealing he would be stepping away from the program. The former AFL champ and radio star, 44, told listeners he would be competing on the upcoming season of Channel Ten's The Amazing Race and would be absent for some time. 'I'm leaving the show... not for good, though,' he began. 'I got an opportunity last year to do something with my 18-year-old daughter Leni - to travel the world on the TV show The Amazing Race! So, I won't be on the show as of Monday.' Co-host Fifi Box then wished Brendan all the best and asked if he had any idea when he would be returning. 'I could be away for a couple of days, a couple of weeks, depends on when I get eliminated... I am not worried about the race, I am worried about whether Leni and I punch on or not. That could be our elimination,' he joked. Brendan has co-hosted the top-rating Fox Melbourne breakfast show since April 2016. When he joined it was known as Fifi, Dave and Fev and he hosted alongside Fifi Box and Dave Thornton. Thornton resigned in 2017 and the show's current line-up of Brendan, Fifi and Nick Cody has been in place since 2021.

Brendan Fevola, Guy Sebastian spark absurd 229-point turnaround
AFL great Brendan Fevola dug deep into his bag of tricks after pulling on the boots for one of the most struggling clubs in Victoria. Fevola teamed up with Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian to make a one-off appearance for VAFA Division 5 Thirds team the Masala Dandenong Football Club. The cellar-dwellers were coming off a 229-point thumping the week prior, but with the 623-goal kicking star in their line-up it was a different story. Fevola was at his best in front of the big sticks as he kicked six goals to help guide Masal to the 7.13 (55) to 8.5 (53) victory over South Melbourne. The 44-year-old was simply unstoppable anytime the ball entered the forward 50 arc as he plucked several one-handed marks. The former Carlton and Brisbane star was rightfully given a hero's reception by the bustling crowd as he walked off the field. 'We hoped to do better than last week — score more than seven points and not to lose by as much as 229 points,' he said. Sebastian lined up alongside Fevola to kick start the contest before drifting into the midfield where he showed off his silky skills. After a halftime performance for the monster crowd, Sebastian's day ended on a sour note when he limped from the field in the fourth quarter. The 43-year-old received treatment before having his leg wrapped up and leaving the ground on crutches. The pair's participation came as part of a promotion run by Fox FM's Fifi, Fev and Nick breakfast show that offers his services to battling local clubs. While Masala and fans were overjoyed that Fevola would be pulling on the boots for the club, the news did not go down well with several VAFA clubs, who questioned his eligibility as the amateur competition strictly prohibits any payments to players, and an investigation by VAFA was launched. The investigation ultimately found that Fevola and Sebastian will not be paid and therefore their appearance could go ahead, with both stars reportedly willing to sign a legal document confirming the league's findings. A Fox FM producer said Fevola and Sebastian's involvement was purely 'a promotional exercise'. With two stars pulling on the boots, fans from far and wide flocked through the gates to catch a glimpse of them in action. A crowd of more than 2500 watched as the game unfolded with the club struggling to keep up with the demand. 'I have never seen anything like it,' club president William Bolch said to the Herald Sun. 'We ran out of bacon and eggs, we ran out of milk, we had to make multiple trips down to the shops to restock the canteen. 'I think today has given the club a massive spike' Unfortunately there was no post-game celebrations for Fevola who quickly hit the road to play his regular game with the East Sunbury Football Club.

Brendan Fevola leads struggling footy side to victory, but it was bad news for singer Guy Sebastian
Brendan Fevola made a surprise return to the footy field on Saturday morning, helping struggling local club Masala Dandenong break a long losing streak in front of a buzzing crowd at Lois Twohig Reserve. The former AFL superstar lined up for the club's reserves side in the Division 5 Thirds of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), alongside pop icon and Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian. What began as a quirky radio promotion turned into a gritty on-field performance, as Fevola and Sebastian led Masala to a tense 55–53 win over South Melbourne Districts. The appearance came just one week after the team's demoralising 229-point thrashing at the hands of St Bede's Mentone. Fevola's involvement came via a Fox FM competition, where he offered to play for a grassroots club in need. Masala Dandenong, last on the ladder and desperate for a spark, jumped at the opportunity. Despite being 44 and long retired from the AFL, it was vintage Fevola on the day, booting six goals to steer his adopted side to victory. 'Fev doing what he does best, winning the games,' one fan posted. 'That's amazing! Well done guys and especially Brendan Fevola and Guy Sebastian,' added another. The club had earlier teased the surprise additions on social media, promising fans a unique matchday experience, including Sebastian performing at halftime. But the crowd got more than they bargained for when Sebastian strapped on the boots and joined the starting line-up. While Fevola helped control the game with his trademark goal sense, it was a mixed day for Sebastian, who was later seen on crutches following the match. It's unclear how serious the injury is. Their participation wasn't without controversy. Before the match, VAFA launched an investigation into concerns raised by rival clubs over whether the high-profile pair were being paid - which is prohibited in the amateur league. The league confirmed both Fevola and Sebastian were cleared to play after assurances they would receive no payment or benefits. Sebastian's day was over early, though, limping from the field with an apparent leg injury Sebastian celebrates the team song in the sheds on crutches with strapping around his left calf A Fox FM producer said both men were happy to sign a legal document confirming their amateur status. 'This is a promotional exercise for Fev (for the radio show) and Guy (for his music), not a money-making exercise,' the statement read. Despite the off-field scrutiny, Fevola's on-field focus was unwavering. 'I'm pumped to be playing for Masala Dandenong on the weekend!' he said earlier in the week.

Brendan Fevola and Guy Sebastian investigated over footy game
AFL great Brendan Fevola and Australian icon Guy Sebastian have been investigated by Australia's biggest amateur football competition ahead of a match this weekend. Former Carlton and Brisbane forward Fevola is set to make a one-off appearance for VAFA Division 5 Thirds club Masala this Saturday, while Australian idol winner Sebastian will perform at half-time. The pair's participation is part of a promotion run by Fevola's breakfast radio program that offers his services to battling local clubs, And Masala - located in Dandenong - was selected as an ideal team to enlist the services of the former AFL star. Masala was beaten by 229 points by St Bedes Mentone last weekend, notching just a single goal, and sit rock bottom on the ladder. And following the embarrassing defeat Fox FM, where Fevola is a breakfast host in Melbourne alongside Fifi Box and Nick Cody, offered his services to the team for this weekend's match The amateur club announced Fevola would feature for them this weekend on Monday, while Sebastian would also perform at halftime, with the post to social media met with widespread excitement from fans. However, the revelation did not go down well with several VAFA clubs, who questioned his eligibility as the amateur competition strictly prohibits any payments to players, and an investigation by VAFA was launched. 'I can confirm that both Guy Sebastian and Brendan Fevola will not receive any payment or benefits from bar sales, or revenue relating to raffles, or auctions or similar that may or may not take place from any fundraising initiative by either Fox FM or Masala on the day or in the lead-up or post-match,' they said. 'This is a promotional exercise for Fev (for the show) and Guy (for his music), not a money-making exercise.' This was presented to the VAFA board executive and the league was confident the club had satisfied the amateur status and registration of the players.
