Hangtown Motocross 250 Moto 2
Five minutes were taken off the clock with temperatures of 102 degrees. Chance Hymas was unable to mount up for Moto 2 after surviving the brutal Moto 1 and food poisoning at the start of the week. He failed to earn points for this race. In-Race Notes Lance Kobusch led his first Pro Motocross race after getting a strong start but it did not take long for Haiden Deegan to get around him. He grabbed the top spot on Lap 2. Kobusch fought the defending Motocross champion, but he crashed early in the race and dropped to the back of the field. Casey Cochran had a strong start as well and moved into the second position early in the race. Hangtown Motocross 450 Moto 1: Aaron Plessinger leads early
Jett Lawrence started the 2025 Pro Motocross season with a sweep of the Round 1 motos at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. He hopes to keep his near-perfect Motocross record alive. Dan Beaver, In-Race Notes Aaron Plessinger cowboys up and took the early lead. Jett Lawrence and Hunter Lawrence are known for their great starts, so completing Lap 1 fourth and fifth was a disappointment. Justin Cooper also got a strong start and rode second for a lap before Eli Tomac took the position. Jett moved into third on Lap 3 and trails second-place Tomac by three seconds. Tomac was three seconds behind Plessinger. Lachlan Turner sweeps Hangtown for Women's Pro Motocross (WMX) Round 2 win
Lachlan Turner had slow starts in both motos of Round 2 of the Women's Pro Motocross series (WMX) at Hangtown in Rancho Cordova, California. She overcame them to score a convincing overall victory with two moto wins. In Moto 2, she was almost last in Turn 1 before finding the speed to take the lead at the end of Lap 1. Turner rode uncontested for the remainder of the 10 laps. 'I had to show that I deserve to be up front,' Turner said. 'Last week, I wasn't riding like myself.' A poor suspension setup at Fox Raceway in Pala, California, stymied Turner. In that round, she finished second to Mikayla Nielsen in the overall results. Nonetheless, Turner, the defending 2024 WMX champion, won the first moto and now has three wins in four motos. Dan Beaver, Nielsen demonstrated consistency in the two motos, finishing third in the first race and second in Moto 2 to finish second overall on a tiebreaker. The Australian women's champion, Charli Cannon, had surgery on her finger only a few days ahead of the season opener in Pala. Diminished grip strength relegated him to a fourth-place overall finish, but she showed speed that the field will need to match in the final four races of the 2025 season. Cannon finished third overall with a second-place finish in Moto 1 and a third-place finish in Moto 2. Kyleigh Stallings won the holeshot in Moto 1 before fading to fourth at the checkers. Another fourth-place finish in Moto 2 scored her fourth overall. Jamie Astudillo (5-5) rounded out the top five. 1. Lachlan Turner [1-1] 2. Mikayla Nielsen [3-2] 3. Charli Cannon [2-3] 4. Kyleigh Stallings [4-4] 5. Jamie Astudillo [5-5] 6. Lilly-Ann Pettus [7-7] 7. Sophie Phelps [6-8] 8. Haileigh Williams [8-10] 9. Jordon Jarvis [15-6] 10. Jett Lawrence wins both 2025 Hangtown Motocross 450 qualification sessions
Jett Lawrence (1:55.914) posted the fastest laps in both sessions and retired early in Q2. Leaving his bike in the pits, he walked back to the podium to provide his commentary. Hangtown is the only Motocross track on which Lawrence has been beaten, but that does not seem to have affected his attitude. 'Grateful enough it's a new day,' Lawrence told Peacock's Jason Thomas, referencing his struggle in 2024. 'Hopefully we will leave a good mark today on this track and make it one of our good tracks. We've had some bad luck and had some good luck here.' Dan Beaver, Justin Cooper (1:53.439) posted the second fastest lap in Q1, and following in the steps of the 250 class, the track lost speed between the sessions, giving Cooper the second-best gate pick for the feature program. Eli Tomac (1:56.455) was only 0.017 seconds slower than Cooper in the first qualification session, but his Q2 times were considerably better. Fourth-place Aaron Plessinger (1:57.209) and RJ Hampshire (1:57.254, posted in the second session) rounded out the top five overall. 450 Qualification Group A 1 times 450 Qualification Group A 2 times More SuperMotocross News Haiden Deegan sweeps Hangtown 250 qualification Chase Sexton out of Hangtown Betting lines, predictions for Hangtown Hangtown Preview 2027 MXoN to be held in the Netherlands Fox Raceway 450 results | 250 results Jett Lawrence remains undefeated at Fox Haiden Deegan sweeps Fox National motos Chase Sexton retires after Fox Nationals Moto 1 crash Perfection: Jett Lawrence wins fifth moto in Pala Haiden Deegan wins Fox Raceway Moto 1

2025 Motocross Hangtown 250 Quals: Haiden Deegan sweeps sessions
Haiden Deegan swept the two qualification sessions for the 250 class and topped the field by half a second. 'It will be hot; everybody's got to deal with it, but I'm pretty fit, so I'm not too worried about it,' Deegan told Peacock's Jason Thomas. 'I usually don't care to pop off in qualifying like this, but I had to this week after a rider shooed me off [the top spot]. We had to send it today.' Deegan was referencing qualification in Pala, California, when Chance Hymas nipped him on the final lap of the second session. Hymas settled for second in Round 2, but that was only half the story. While the track had appreciably slowed for the second session, Hymas would have preferred to finish ahead of his rival. Other than pride, there was nothing to gain. Nevertheless, Deegan rode a wide line around the track following a red flag for a three-rider crash. Hymas was forced to follow. Ty Masterpool was third on the chart with a time of 1:57.398, which was .897 seconds slower than Deegan. Fourth-place Garrett Marchbanks (1:57.428) and Casey Cochran (1:57.479) rounded out the top five. The second qualification session was marred by a red flag involving Hunter Yoder and Trevor Colip. Yoder put his Honda on the dirt at the top of a hill and Colip was unable to avoid the fallen bike. Colip was carted off by the Alpinestars Medical crew for evaluation.
