Mom buys $5 scratch-off in North Carolina. Then came ‘screaming and yelling'
A mom ended up waking up her baby with all her 'screaming and yelling' after finding out about her big lottery win, North Carolina officials said.
Frankiel White couldn't 'contain her excitement' after learning the $5 Xtreme Cashword ticket she bought in Seaboard was carrying a $150,000 prize, according to a May 29 news release by the North Carolina Lottery.
'It was just crazy,' White told lottery officials. 'It was like a dream.'
White, who 'couldn't fall asleep' after learning of her win, claimed $107,626 on May 28 following required federal and state tax deductions, officials said.
'It was just a perfect moment,' she told officials.
The lucky winner plans to use the money to buy a car and help her family, and she will save the rest, officials said.
'We are all just so excited,' she said in the release. 'This is the best.'
Two Xtreme Cashword puzzle top prizes of $150,000 are waiting to be claimed, officials said.
Seaboard is about a 100-mile drive northeast from Raleigh.
