Bayern Munich's Frans Krätzig joins RB Salzburg
After spending the last six months on loan at Heidenheim, Bayern Munich have announced the departure of Frans Krätzig (22) to Austrian side RB Salzburg for a reported €3.5m. As reported by Sky Germany, the Bundesliga side retain a buy-back clause in the midfielder, who has signed a contract until 2028. Krätzig played seven games across all competitions for Bayern Munich, and 35 games for the second team. In an effort to play more football, the former German youth international joined fellow Bundesliga side Stuttgart on loan last summer but failed to make an impact but impressed in the second half of the season while on loan at Heidenheim, helping the minnows secure Bundesliga football for the 2025/26 season. Advertisement Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund was quick to praise Krätzig, saying: 'Frans Krätzig was one of the first class of players to join the newly-founded FC Bayern Campus in 2017. He has continued to develop over the years, including becoming a Germany youth international and has now racked up over 20 Bundesliga appearances. He's yet another player who has learned his trade at FC Bayern and is now forging his own path in professional football. We wish him all the best.' RB Salzburg sporting director Rouven Schröder said: 'We have signed a new player with excellent football skills and a high level of game intelligence. Another positive is that he can play in several positions, meaning he can be deployed in a variety of positions.' GGFN | Daniel Pinder
