Trump takes victory lap in speech to US Congress
France 24 correspondent Fraser Jackson reports from Washington, DC, where US President Donald Trump delivered his first speech to the US Congress since returning to power, drawing near constant cheer from Republicans and disapproval from Democrats as he flaunted his administration's actions and declared that "America is back." In the longest speech ever made to US lawmakers, Trump backed his sweeping tariffs on Mexican, China, and Canada, vowed to bring peace to Ukraine and prosperity to the US economy, eradicate "wokeness" from the US, and claimed that the was "saved by God" to "make America great again."
