Ackermann, Harris & Clarke among Gloucester leavers
Ruan Ackermann, Freddie Clarke, Chris Harris, Zach Mercer, Albert Tuisue and Mayco Vivas are among 19 players who will be leaving Gloucester at the end of this Ackermann and lock Clarke have both surpassed 150 appearances for the Cherry and Whites, with Scotland and British and Irish Lions centre Harris scoring 26 tries in 106 matches so back-row Tuisue has started six out of 17 matches this season and has been at Gloucester since 2022, along with Argentina loose-head prop eight Mercer, who signed in 2023 with the hope of returning to the England set-up, saw his season ended by a knee injury in November and has been linked with a return to a French Louis Hillman-Cooper, prop Alfie Petch and hooker Morgan Nelson will also be leaving. Man killed in Queensbury crash named by police
Freddie Clarke, 26, died in a crash on 2 May [West Yorkshire Police] A man who died when the car he was driving crashed into a wall has been named by police. Freddie Clarke, 26, from Baildon, was driving a Volkswagen Polo along Brighouse and Denholme Gate Road, near Queensbury, when it crashed off the road on Friday. His family said in a statement: "We would like to thank all those who have offered words of comfort and support during this heart-breaking time." West Yorkshire Police said the 54-year-old driver of a black Ford Fiesta, which is thought to have been involved in the crash, had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and later released on bail. The force said Mr Clarke was driving away from Queensbury towards Denholme when the crash happened at about 19:20 BST. Officers investigating the crash have appealed to anyone who saw either the Fiesta or the Polo prior to the collision to come forward. Det Insp Paul Conroy said: "Our thoughts go out to Freddie's family at this tragic time." "I would also like to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the circumstances prior to the collision."
