Police: Stolen car crashes into 2 vehicles in Frederick, driver flown to hospital

FREDERICK, Md. () — A stolen car crashed into two vehicles before overturning in Frederick last week, impacting traffic in the area for over two hours, police said Tuesday. At around 1:50 p.m. on Friday, May 23, officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to N Market Street at Routzahn Way for a collision. At the scene, they learned that a Honda Pilot, driven by a 22-year-old man from Woodbridge, Va., tried to make a left turn onto Routzahn Way when it struck two southbound vehicles and overturned, according to the Frederick Police Department. Police noted that the Honda was speeding, had been reported stolen in a neighboring county, and had just been involved in a hit-and-run crash in downtown Frederick. Black bear spotted in Langley Park area on Memorial Day Maryland State Police flew the 22-year-old Honda driver, who was seriously injured, to the hospital for treatment. Another driver was also taken to the hospital; however, police said they had minor injuries. As a result of the crash, a portion of N Market Street and Routzahn Way was closed to traffic for about two and a half hours as officers investigated. At this time, it is unclear if the Honda driver is facing any charges, and there is no word on their condition. DC News Now reached out to Frederick police but has not yet heard back. Haque is accused of sexually assaulting the victims during medical appointments at his practice. FREDERICK, Md. (DC News Now) — As protests broke out in Frederick on Thursday evening, four people were arrested after a small group strayed from peaceful conduct, the Frederick Police Department (FPD) said. Around 8:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Fourth Street and N. Market Street for a report of a group of around 20 people wearing all black and hitting vehicles with umbrellas. Several were wearing protective goggles and gas masks, a tactics commonly used by protesters expecting confrontation. During de-escalation efforts by police, several suspects assaulted law enforcement officers, police said. One officer was struck in the head with an object thrown by a protester, while another officer was struck in the groin with a metal pole. They were identified as Joseph Eastwood, Andromeda Weir, Joshua Gainey and Jayla Draghici. Three of the individuals including Eastwood, Gainey and Draghici were charged with assault on a law enforcement officer. Officers recovered fireworks, laser pointers, spray paint, and other tools commonly used to destroy property or interfere with police. A nearby window was also shattered. 'Peaceful protest is a constitutional right we will always protect,' said Chief Jason Lando. 'But when individuals show up with a plan to assault officers and damage property, and bring the tools to commit those acts, that's not protected speech, that's a crime. Man charged after woman finds him inside her car, Frederick Police say

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A man is facing various drug, firearm and theft charges after a woman allegedly found him inside her vehicle Wednesday, according to the Frederick Police Department. Police said a woman called stating a random man was inside her car, parked in the 500 block of North Bentz Street, smoking a cigarette. Victims lost over $700,000 after computer pop-up alert schemes in Prince George's County When confronted, he ran, and police began searching the area. Officers found a man in the area matching the description, and the woman positively identified him. Carl Terrace Mobley Jr., 42, was arrested, and a search of his person resulted in the seizure of suspected crack cocaine, a digital scale, cash, and a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun. Mobley is charged with: Theft from a motor vehicle Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute Firearm possession with a felony conviction Possession of a controlled substance – not cannabis Theft less than $100 Rogue and vagabond Handgun on person A loaded handgun on person Firearm/drug trafficking crime Distribution of a controlled substance with a firearm Mobley was transported to the Frederick Adult Detention Center, where he remains without bond.
