Arctic Trucks Turns the New Prado into a Rugged Off-Road Beast

Introducing the AT37, a specially modified version of the Toyota Prado crafted by Arctic Trucks. At first glance, it may seem like a standard Prado with oversized tires, but this vehicle brings far more to the table. Arctic Trucks, renowned for creating the iconic fleet of Toyota Hilux trucks featured in the Polar Special of Top Gear, has now turned its expertise toward enhancing the latest Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with an extensive suite of upgrades. Enhanced Design and Tuning The AT37 features a thoroughly upgraded suspension system. The factory-standard suspension has been replaced with a two-way adjustable setup, offering extended suspension travel at the front, while the rear benefits from new springs and dampers. This configuration results in a modest 1.5-inch lift, enhancing the Prado's off-road capability. The SUV is equipped with 17-inch Arctic Trucks wheels paired with 37-inch BFGoodrich T/A K03 tires, giving it its distinctive AT37 name. To accommodate these massive tires without any clearance issues, a widebody kit comprising 10 pieces has been integrated into the design. Beyond these visible enhancements, Arctic Trucks has reengineered the 2025 Toyota Prado's chassis. The rear axle has been repositioned further back, extending the wheelbase, while the track has been widened. These modifications improve ground clearance and stability while ensuring the ride remains comfortable, delivering a robust yet practical off-road experience. Mechanical Upgrades Although the AT37 retains the Prado's original powertrain, the speedometer has been recalibrated to account for the updated suspension and tire configuration. Additional features include mud flaps positioned behind the rear wheels, rubber side steps for convenience, and a refreshed interior with newly installed carpets that complement its rugged exterior. Distinctive badging highlights the unique identity of this vehicle, emphasizing its status as an adventure-focused off-roader. To enhance its versatility, a 2-inch multi-function hitch has been added, enabling towing capabilities for outdoor excursions. Freyr Þórsson, Arctic Trucks International's R&D director, highlighted the meticulous development process, stating that the project benefited greatly from close collaboration with suppliers in the UK's motorsport valley. These efforts have translated into notable improvements in performance and functionality. While the price of the AT37 has not been disclosed and varies depending on the region, it's evident that the extensive list of upgrades makes this modified Prado a premium offering.
