Jodie Sweetin Shared An Update On Her Friendship With Candace Cameron Bure In Spite Of Their Different "Viewpoints"
You know Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure. They starred as sisters Stephanie and D.J. Tanner on Full House from 1987 to 1995 and reprised their roles on Fuller House from 2016 to 2020. Jodie recently addressed on an April 28 episode of The Vault with Monica & Amir podcast, where she and her former costar stood since it had become apparent over the last few years that they have very different views on social issues. "She posted her viewpoint and I posted mine. We've always been very different on those things," Jodie said. If you remember, back in 2022, Candace faced backlash after she claimed the Great American Family network, where she was chief creative officer, would focus on stories about "traditional marriage" instead of same-sex couples. Candace told The Wall Street Journal, "I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment." When JoJo Siwa spoke out against Candace's Wall Street Journal interview for being "rude and hurtful to a whole community of people," Jodie commented on the post in support, writing, "You know I love you ❤️❤️." On top of that, Jodie spoke out in support of LGBTQ+ communities after an independent project she worked on was sold to the Great American Family network. "Sometimes, we, as actors, don't have control over which network buys the projects we are in, nor are we a part of the process in which they get sold," she told People. "I am disappointed, but in keeping with my mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future money made from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations." As for the TV sisters' relationship today, Jodie said, "Candace and I – we just live very different lifestyles. We just exist in sort of very different worlds, but she is still someone I have known since I was 5 years old." "It's like family members, where you're like, maybe we don't talk all the time — and I know if politics come up, it is not going to go well — but I don't hate you," she added. "I am not going to not hug you, but I am also not gonna keep my mouth shut." Candace unfollowed Jodie on Instagram after the back-and-forth over the controversial statements about the Great American Family, but Jodie isn't fazed. "I'm not gonna unfollow anybody," Jodie said. "I don't live my life based on social media. I think it can be used for some great things, and I also think it can be really negative and full of a lot of shit, particularly these days." Elsewhere in the podcast episode, Jodie addressed a moment following the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, where fans assumed that she was shading her former costar. Candace criticized the opening ceremony because it "completely blashphemed... the Christian faith with their interpreation of the Last Supper." Olympics / Via Jodie reposted a video on IG stories sharing that the ceremony was an interpretation of the Greek god Dionysus, and people assumed it was a dig at Candace. "To be honest, I wasn't even speaking about her," Jodie said on the podcast. "There was already some thing that had happened where we went [on] very divergent paths on something we said – and then I saw the Olympics thing and I saw all these people freaking out about it, and I was like, 'Oh my God, tell me you know nothing about art history without telling me you know nothing,' and then everyone was like, 'She came for Candace!' And I was like, 'What the?'" Michael Tullberg / Getty Images

Jodie Sweetin reveals where she stands with ‘Full House' co-star Candace Cameron Bure: I won't ‘keep my mouth shut'
Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure in a feud? Cut it out! There is no bad blood between the 'Full House' stars, who played sisters DJ and Stephanie Tanner, respectively, on the ABC sitcom that ran for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995. Last summer, Sweetin, 43, and Bure, 49, had different opinions over the Paris Olympics — with 'The Jane Mysteries' star calling out conservatives for their harsh opinions on the opening ceremony, which featured drag queens. 9 Jodie Sweetin dishes on her relationship with Candace Cameron Bure. The Vault Podcast Bure dubbed the number, which referenced Leonardo Da Vinci's 'The Last Supper,' 'disgusting' and said it was mocking 'the Christian faith.' Despite their dueling feelings, Sweetin set the record straight on where she stands with her on-screen sibling. 'Tell us you don't know about art,'' host Amir Yass said on the latest episode of his 'The Vault' podcast, quoting Sweetin. 'You were speaking about her…' 9 Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos and Jodie Sweetin attend Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine Benefitting The Scleroderma Research Foundation. 'There was already something that had happened where we went on a divergent path,' explained Sweetin. 'And then I saw the Olympics thing and how people were freaking out about it, so I said, 'Oh my God, tell me you don't know anything about art history without telling me you know nothing,' and everyone was like, 'She came for Candace!'' The 'Fuller House' star admitted she was shocked by that rumor. 9 Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin attend 90s Con held at Connecticut Convention Center on March 18, 2023. I was, like, getting a massage or something, and I came out to all of this, and I was like, 'What did I…? Oh, she said….ohhhhhh. Well, I guess that's it!'' 'I'm not changing anything I said,' she insisted. 'But it was not an intentional dig. But it was still what I wanted to say.' 9 Scenes from 'Full House.' 'She posted her viewpoint and I posted mine, and we've always been very different on those things. I think it was just… now all of that comes to the surface more.' The 'Full House' cast — which also included the late Bob Saget, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Andrea Barber and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — have always been close. So that's what I did. That's how I look at it. You don't want to follow or whatever, that's cool.' As Sweetin put it, 'I'll be nice, but I will not be quiet.' 9 Actors Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin, and Candace Cameron-Bure pose for portrait at the 2018 Hallmark Channel Summer TCA. Sweetin noted, 'I'm not gonna unfollow anybody!' 'I don't live my life based on social media,' she shared. 'I think it can be used for some great things, and I also think it can be really negative and full of a lot of shit, particularly these days.' 'Unfollow me, don't follow, whatevs,' Sweetin stated. 'People announce their departure. It's like, 'Cool, yeah, goodbye! You live in fucking Wyoming. I don't know you!' And if people I do know unfollow me because of what I passionately believe in, then we are just very different people.' In 2022, Bure defended herself and her network, which she is the CCO at, from the backlash about showing traditional marriage in her programming. 9 Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure in 1987. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone,' she told People. 'It saddens me that the media is often seeking to divide us, even around a subject as comforting and merry as Christmas movies. But, given the toxic climate in our culture right now, I shouldn't be surprised. We need Christmas more than ever.' The 'Ainsley McGregor Mysteries' star also spoke about her faith, adding, 'I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately.'

Lori Loughlin, 60, flashes the flesh as she hits event without her husband... over 4 years after prison ordeal
Lori Loughlin appears to have officially readjusted to the glamour of Hollywood, nearly five years since her role in the college admissions scandal landed her behind bars. The star, 60, stunned at An Unforgettable Evening, a gala benefitting the Women's Cancer Research Fund held at The Beverly Hilton. Lori hit the red carpet in a chic black semi-sheer lace dress with floral accents, a metallic choker necklace, and classic heels. She worked a head full of loose, glossy waves and her face was accented with a professional-level coat of makeup. The look was given another luxurious touch with a Chanel bag that Lori brought with her on the red carpet. She posed alone and was not seen with her husband Mossimo Giannulli, 61. Lori first returned to the red carpet in 2022, her first since she served nearly two months in prison for her role in the college admissions scandal. The actress and her husband are six years removed from their April 2019 indictment. The couple was charged in connection with allegations they paid admissions fixer Rick Singer $500,000 to arrange for USC to recruit their daughters Isabella Rose, 25, and Olivia Jade, 24, onto the school's rowing team, despite that they had no background in the sport. In May of 2020, the pair pleaded guilty in connection with conspiracy charges in the case. Loughlin received a two-month jail sentence along with a fine of $150,000 and 150 hours of community service following the guilty plea. She began her sentence at a federal prison in Dublin, California in October of 2020 and was released that December. Giannulli received a five-month sentence with a fine of $250,000 and 250 hours of community service. He began his prison sentence in November of 2020 and was transferred to home confinement in April of 2021, about a month before his sentence ended. However the former Summerland star has been able to resume her acting career since getting out of the slammer. She's appeared in a number of Christmas films for the Great American Family channel and also appeared in an episode of Ted. In recent years she has been making a comeback both on the red carpet and in her acting career The star even parodied herself in a 2024 episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Her legal troubles, however, did keep her sidelined from Fuller House's fifth season. Meanwhile, her daughter Olivia is a huge social media influencer with millions of followers. The star appeared on Dancing With The Stars in 2021 and fronted a Steve Madden footwear campaign with mom Lori in 2023.

Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber of 'Full House' say John Stamos crush questions felt 'gross'
Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber of 'Full House' say John Stamos crush questions felt 'gross' Show Caption Hide Caption John Stamos reveals he was kicked out of Scientology John Stamos has opened up about his departure from the Church of Scientology, saying he was kicked out. unbranded - Entertainment Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber always thought of "Uncle Jesse" as just that. The former "Full House" child stars opened up about the awkward questions they were asked about costar John Stamos during a mini-episode of their "How Rude, Tanneritos!" podcast on April 25. In the episode, the two play "Would You Rather?" when the question arises of whether they would rather marry Joey Gladstone or Jess Katsopolis. Both eventually agree that Joey was the better choice due to Jesse's "toxic male traits," said Barber, and that Joey would be "somebody that makes me laugh," said Sweetin. But the pair admitted the question was "weird" for them. John Stamos talks rocking through Beach Boys stage fails, showtime hair, Bob Saget lessons "I'm like, I don't know that it's because it's like they're family and it's weird," Sweetin, 43, said. "But I guess, if you had to pick based on temperament alone, we're going with Gladstone." Barber, 48, then brought up how uncomfortable it is to be asked about the actors in this way, after becoming so close on the 1990s sitcom. "When people ask us in media interviews, they're like, 'Did you ever have a crush on John Stamos?' No, that is a gross question," Barber said. "They're like our older brothers, and we do not think of them that way." "Not even older brothers, like they're like my uncles," said Sweetin, who played the two men's niece Stephanie Tanner on the series. Rob Lowe calls out LA tour guide for confusing him with John Stamos "There's nothing remotely attractive about this," Barber, who played neighbor Kimmy Gibbler, added. "Full House" aired from 1987 to 1995, starring Stamos, 61, Sweetin, Barber, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen and the late Bob Saget. The cast has remained close, with Stamos telling USA TODAY in July that "Bob was the one who kept us all together, he was the glue. It still hurts. He was just plucked out of our lives." Saget was found dead in a Florida hotel room on Jan. 9, 2022, and his cause of death was determined to be head trauma. Before his death, the cast – sans Oslen twins – reprised their roles on the sequel series "Fuller House," from 2016 to 2020.

Andrea Barber recalls 'gross question' about 'Full House' co-star John Stamos
Popular sitcom Full House viewers likely had crushes on John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse in the show, but his young co-stars didn't see him that way. Andrea Barber, who played the next-door neighbour in the series, recalled an old interview in which she was asked if she "ever" had "a crush" on Stamos, reported The Hollywood Reporter. The actress called it a "gross question" as she was way too young at that time and regarded Stamos as her elder brother. While speaking on the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast alongside co-star Jodie Sweetin, Barber recalled being asked in interviews if she "ever" had a "crush" on Stamos. "No," she added, going on to say of Stamos and fellow co-star Dave Coulier, who played family friend Joey Gladstone, who also helped raise the Tanner girls alongside widowed dad Danny (Bob Saget), " "They're like our older brothers, and we do not think of them that way," added Barber. Sweetin agreed, adding, "Not even older brothers. They're like my uncles." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the moment came up during a game of "Would You Rather" on a recent minisode of Barber and Sweetin's rewatch podcast, as they look back at the two-parter where Jesse and Becky (Lori Loughlin) get married. During the wedding-themed quiz, the co-hosts were asked if they'd rather marry Joey or Jesse, but they found the question to be "weird". "They're like family, and it's weird," Sweetin said. The pair did, however, pick Joey, with Sweetin saying the choice was based on "temperament alone". "There's nothing remotely attractive about this," Barber added later. "They are just our buddies and, yeah, this is kind of a weird question." After Full House ended in 1995, Sweetin, Barber, Bure and more of the Full House cast reprised their roles in the Netflix reboot Fuller House, which ran from 2016-2020.
