Groom-to-be dies on stag do as waves sweep him away just weeks before wedding
Stefanos Kemos was just three weeks away from getting married when he was swept away in dreadful weather conditions in Greece and died despite emergency services rushing to save him A groom-to-be was tragically killed on his stag do when he was swept away by waves just weeks before his wedding. Stefanos Kemos, 30, drowned at sea after he'd been celebrating with friends. But pals watched on in horror as he was swept away by waves in dreadful weather conditions on Sunday (May 25). Kemos was due to get married on June 17, just weeks away. The Coast Guard and emergency services, including the fire brigade, managed to reach Stefanos from Kathisma Beach, on the island of Lefkada, Greece, and transfer his body to an ambulance. He was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved and was confirmed dead shortly after arriving, as reported by NeedToKnow. Stefanos, of Trikala, north east of Athens, Greece, had travelled to Lefkada, west of the capital to celebrate his stag do. His fiancé was reportedly on the same island for her hen do. Stefanos was the son of a well-known family as his father was a businessman who owned a car dealership together with his brother. Last month, a British groom-to-be died on a Benidorm stag do in front of his father and friends. The 29-year-old father-of-one from Halifax was pronounced dead following the incident at the Funky Flamingo bar on March 22. According to the manager of the Benidorm bar, the man fell backwards off a bar stool and hit his head on the ground. After he became unconscious, the manager and staff in the bar attempted CPR for around 15 minutes, before an ambulance arrived. Medics then gave him a shot of adrenaline and attempted further resuscitation, but he could not be saved. In a statement to local media, the National Police said: "We can confirm that a man suffered some type of medical problem and died at the scene. "He was treated by those present at the premises and then by the paramedics who responded to the call. The medical causes of the death are unknown." The man's father and friends, who were with him at the bar, were said to have been left in tears. Bar manager Gaston Luciano told the MailOnline: "They gave him a shot of adrenaline and connected him to a machine, they did everything they could, it was so sad. "His friends were in shock for the first minute or so and then it hit them what was happening, they were emotional and crying." One eyewitness described seeing "several police cars" and two ambulances outside the bar, while another described seeing a large amount of blood running from his head. Photographs from the scene showed a large emergency services presence. The man was known to have suffered a heart attack several years earlier.

Horror as body washes up on Benidorm tourist beach as puzzled cops rush to identify corpse found with no ID
A BODY has been found washed up on a beach in Benidorm. The unidentified corpse was discovered by the National Police on Wednesday evening, The Sun understands. 8 8 8 A spokesman from the force in Alicante said that the body belonged to a white male. He said: "We can confirm that a body was found on a beach in Benidorm last night. "The individual has not been identified as there was no ID on his person." The force said it could not provide more details, adding that its main focus is to identify the individual. The Costa Blanca has seen an explosion of crime in recent months, stemming from the region's growing appeal among criminal networks. The presence of drug traffickers has led to an uptick in associated criminal behaviour, including violence, petty theft, and street crime. A Belfast dad-of-two, John George, was killed on an isolated Costa Blanca road December last year. Another Irishman, Jonny Smyth, was arrested in Portugal last month over his death. Within days of John's disappearance another corpse, riddled with bullets, was found in Rojales. Brits have been warned by cops to look out for muggers and gangs who prowl around Benidorm and target tourists. Tributes pour in for Brit stag do groom who collapsed & died in Benidorm as fiancee says 'I can't believe this is real' One street, dubbed "Muggers Alley", is a particular favourite amongst the criminals. Shocking CCTV footage emerged of a tourists being stopped on the road and pick-pocketed by some women. One of them is seen walking out into the alleyway and right in front of a man with her arms out in a bid to stop him in his tracks. Three women then grab him by his shirt as he tries to walk away. 8 8 8 The mugging hotspot is reportedly outside the Magic Villa de Benidorm - and right next to the local tourist police station. There has also been a huge surge in drug crime in the town, earning it the title "Narcos capital of the Costa Blanca". A growing number of Brits have reported horror injuries after being set upon by "wolf-like" gangs of out-of-control bouncers. Steve Didlock, 41, was left badly bruised and needing a CT scan on his head after a doormen allegedly battered him to the ground while pepper-spraying his terrified wife, after wrongly accusing her of holding a drink from another bar. His wife, Tegan, 31, told The Sun earlier this month: 'They were like a pack of wolves with poles and pepper spray." 8 8 A British dad died in the resort town last month when he collapsed while celebrating his own stag do. Oliver Holroyd, 29, was partying with his family and friends at the Funky Flamingo bar in the Spanish town last month. He fell off his stool and hit his head on the ground after suffering a suspected stroke on March 22. Gaston Luciano, the bar's manager, described giving CPR to Oliver who was responsive for 60 seconds, but then there was nothing. The dad-of-one from Halifax was due to marry to his fiancée, Paige Whiteley, in May. A JustGiving page was set up in his memory to raise money for the Stroke Association. His distraught fiancée Paige said: "My Oliver, I can't believe this is real. This shouldn't be real. I miss you so so much." Last year, a British dad-of-four died on his first-ever lads holiday after falling while searching for his hotel. Nathan Osman, 30, became separated from his pals after a night out and couldn't find his way back. His family suspect foul play in his death, and complained of feeling "abandoned" by Spanish police.
