‘Fur Ball' raises over $60k for local animal charity
BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — Saturday was the 11th annual Fur Ball, Animal Charity of Ohio's largest fundraising event of the year.
It was at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. The sold-out event featured dinner and an auction and is dedicated to supporting Animal Charity's mission of fighting against animal cruelty.
The year has marked a big milestone for the organization after moving all its operations to one large facility in Boardman.
'It's amazing to see everyone in person. It's very hard when you're doing everything digitally to see the support but when you get everyone in a room like this it's heartwarming and humbling,' said Jane MacMurchy with Animal Charity of Ohio.
The event sold out and raised over $60,000 in donations and tickets so far. All the money supports the medical care of the animals, operations of the shelter and animal cruelty investigations.
