Paratici: Ex-Juve and Tottenham director meets Furlani in London for Milan talks

Paratici: Ex-Juve and Tottenham director meets Furlani in London for Milan talks A meeting between former Juventus and Tottenham executive Fabio Paratici and Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is currently underway in London according to the latest updates, as the Rossoneri close in on a decision over their next sporting director. Advertisement Milan have been without a sporting director for all of the calendar year after the departure of Antonio D'Ottavio in December. The Rossoneri have been actively seeking a replacement for several weeks, with Paratici and former Lazio director Igli Tare the preferred candidates in over that time-span. (Photo by) According to Tuesday's reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Paratici is now the firm favourite to take over as Milan's sporting director, and is currently meeting with CEO Furlani in London to discuss the project. Paratici is reportedly Milan's 'chosen' option for sporting director, but does not currently have an agreement in place in personal terms. That could potentially change by the end of the day, and possibly by the end of Tuesday's meeting in London. Advertisement Paratici has been out of work for the last two years, following his suspension as a result of an investigation into fictitious capital gains during his time with Juventus, confirmation of which arrived in March 2023. Paratici resigned from his position as director of football with Tottenham in April 2023 when his appeal to FIFA was rejected.

Italian media casts doubt on Ibrahimovic's Milan future

Italian media casts doubt on Ibrahimovic's Milan future Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn't yet returned to Milanello and with Giorgio Furlani set to pick Milan's new sporting director, the ex-striker's future at the club remains uncertain. Milan are in the process of hiring a new sporting director, with CEO Furlani having the final say on the successful candidate. The Milan director has already held talks with Fabio Paratici and will meet other candidates in the coming weeks. Advertisement Gazzetta confirms that the Serie A giants will likely pick a director with deep knowledge of Italian football, which means Fabio Paratici and Igli Tare are the frontrunners for the job. (Photo by) At the same time, however, the fact that Furlani will ultimately pick the best candidate for Milan casts doubt on Ibrahimovic's future. The ex-striker has been serving as an Advisor to the RedBird ownership since December 2023 and has contributed to making key decisions regarding the first team, including hiring coaches Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceiçao this season. Advertisement Ibra also interviewed candidates for the sporting director role, but Furlani was tasked with appointing a new director after meeting with Gerry Cardinale this month. Sky Sport Italia already reported that 'internal balance' within the club would be discussed in the coming weeks. Ibrahimovic's recent distance from the first team, partially due to a flu, seems to suggest that his duties may change in 2025-26, provided that he keeps his role.

GdS: ‘Furlani's casting' – Italian direction for Milan after latest failures

AC Milan are looking to head back down the Italian route in management, after the past two appointments have been unsuccessful. This season has proved a lot about Milan, and none of it really has been positive. Going from the Rossoneri's position of strength coming into the season to now, where the side are flailing and trying to find European football next season, is an absolute failure. Unfortunately, the blame can be pointed in several directions – from the management to the coaches and even to the players. So, another direction will collectively be taken in the summer, with Sergio Conceicao set to depart, and after being given control by Gerry Cardinale, the pressure will fall on the shoulders of Giorgio Furlani. The next step now is to find the best solution for all situations, and this involves the hiring of a new head coach and sporting director, a process which has already begun. Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write that the first interviews will 'get into full swing' next week, with Furlani ready to host meetings. The paper suggests that the director has already begun planning the future in his head, however, nothing has been decided yet, even if he is the favourite for the role, there are others in the race. After Paulo Fonseca and now Conceicao, there is a need to return back to a 'local' coach. Massimiliano Allegri stands out as the 'most accessible option', but there is also the name of Maurizio Sarri, who could be ready to take the reigns. Then, Antonio Conte and Roberto De Zerbi, who have previously been interests for Milan, are also options, but they are both harder to attract. Looking internationally, the most likely is Cesc Fabregas, but similar issues are in place.

MN: Milan CEO Furlani flies out for strategic meetings in Dubai

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani will not remain in Italy during the March international break but instead will embark on a commercial mission. According to MilanNews, Furlani will take advantage of the break to fly to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, for two days of meeting with the club's commercial partners. It is a crucial region for Milan to continue their growth, as the CEO himself has admitted. In November 2023, Furlani was present for the opening of the club's headquarters in Dubai, and he spoke to The National about the opportunities in the area that the Rossoneri are looking to capitalise on. 'Opening this headquarters is a very important step for us in our journey towards the future. If you go back 10 years, we had a period of some difficulty as a club, as a company and on the pitch we went through a process of turnaround, rationalisation and change of strategy that started about five years ago,' he said. 'We have had a relationship with the region and with Dubai for a long time. There is huge potential because it is a region that is hungry for football. You see it everywhere, really. There is this love for football and this unwavering passion that is so evident. Sometimes it feels like you are in Italy.' Milan have several long-standing relationships in the Middle East, including the commercial one with Emirates (Principal Partner and shirt sponsor since 2007). The club's office in Dubai has made the Rossoneri the first Italian football club to open an office in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). The office is a further way to strengthen the relationship with the local fan base – which sees Milan the most followed Italian club in the area – build bridges with the local community, and cultivate new relationships in this strategic market.
