Futsal AFCON: Morocco to Host First Ever Women's Futsal African Cup
Morocco is set to host the inaugural women;s Futsal African Cup of NAtions (AFCON) in 2025. The Draw takes place next Thursday at the Confederation of African Football Headquarters (CAF) headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.\u00a0<\><\>
The AFCON will run from APril 22 to 30 in Morocco, with nine nations vying to lift the trophy: Morocco, Angola, Cameroon, Egypt, Guinea, Madagascar, Namibia, Senegal, and Tanzania.\u00a0\u00a0<\><\>
FRMF created this team in 2021 and has made big strides so far. Adil Sayeh has coached the national team since last year. They have since faced tougher opponents like Thailand, and competed in the Futsal Week June Cup in Croatia, where they finished in fifth place after a stunning victory over Greenland.\u00a0<\><\>
The 2025 tournament will not only crown Africa's top futsal women's team but will also serve as a qualifier for the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup in the Philippines.\u00a0<\><\>
