Rumer Willis became 'enamoured' with films after shooting Striptease

Rumer Willis fell in love with the movie business on the set of 'Striptease'. The 36-year-old actress starred alongside Demi Moore, her mom, in the 1996 movie, and Rumer relished the experience of working on a film set at such a young age, admitting that she "loved every second" of the shoot. Rumer told People: "I was just so enamoured and kind of like, 'What is this world? What's going on here?'" The actress actually remembers dancing in her mom's shoes during lunch breaks. She said: "I loved the costumes. "During lunch sometimes I would go try and put my mom's shoes on and a feather boa and dance around the stage." Demi played an FBI secretary-turned-stripper in the movie, and Rumer still remembers her mom shooting a number of racy scenes. She shared: "I was like, oh, there's all these ladies around me all the time. I was just so enamoured." Demi, 62, previously admitted that she felt judged for playing a stripper in the film. The actress hit back at critics of 'Striptease', suggesting that she was treated unfairly at the time it was released. Speaking to Variety in 2024, Demi said: "There was an interesting kind of judgement placed on a woman who worked as a dancer, but the idea was that this was a woman trying to take care of her child in the best way she could." Demi became the highest-paid actress in the mid-90s, and she feels proud of herself for "changing the playing field for all women". However, Demi still feels bemused by how she was portrayed at the time. The actress - who was married to Bruce Willis between 1987 and 2000 - recalled: "I did 'Striptease' and 'G.I. Jane' back to back. If anything in this industry has ever been stacked against me, it was having those two films come out at the same time and becoming the highest-paid actress on top of that. "That moment was so powerful for me because it wasn't just about me; it was about changing the playing field for all women. "But, because I was portraying a stripper, I betrayed women. And because I played a soldier, I betrayed men."

Vestal senior appointed to Naval Academy

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Binghamton teenager is Broome County's only appointee to the Naval Academy for the next school year. Reagan Young attends Vestal High School where she has had an exceptional career both academically and athletically. Young is receiving an International Baccalaureate diploma and is the President of the Senior Class. She also plays lacrosse, basketball, flag football, and is on the swimming and track teams. Young says she is honored to be chosen for such a prestigious and competitive appointment. The Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland has only an 8 to 10 percent acceptance rate. As part of the process, she had to be nominated by former Congressman Marc Molinaro. Young says she was originally inspired to join the military by watching the movie G.I. Jane as a little girl. 'Around 8th grade, I kept seeing a bunch of these videos on my social media. So, I really looked into it and was, 'Wow, these people who I'm seeing online are very skilled, very determined.' I feel like I'd be a great fit for that, so I looked into it. I looked into the rigor of the academy and the prestige of it, and I knew that's where I wanted to go, that's where I wanted to be,' said Young. Young's journey will begin with Pleb Summer, a sort of basic training for the freshman class. After four years of academic study and training, she will graduate as a commissioned officer. Young says she's interested in possibly becoming a Navy pilot or a surface warfare officer stationed on an aircraft carrier. Demi Moore had this unusual demand before filming bikini scene in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

Demi Moore was particular about one thing before filming a bikini scene in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, the 62-year-old revealed that she learned about the iconic scene just three weeks before shooting. 'All I remember is begging them not to shoot my butt. I don't know why that was my obsession,' Moore told host Drew Barrymore, who co-starred with her in the 2003 action film alongside Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. She went on to explain that due to the short period of notice, she had no time to overthink about the role. Instead, she was forced to 'compartmentalise.' 'And I had no time to think about what I looked like, which was almost better,' she confessed. Barrymore was shocked by the revelation as she expressed her disbelief at how the G.I. Jane star was able to achieve the feat. 'No one can do in three weeks what you showed up with. So you were clearly good to go,' she told her former co-star. Meanwhile, the Songbird actress shared that she was surprised by the attention she got for filming the bikini scene at the time. Moore explained that she 'was not prepared for the focus that happened from it.' 'I had no idea the amplification, ironically, that was specifically tied to my age,' Moore, who had just turned 40 while shooting the scene, added.

Demi Moore Weighs In On Going Gray — And 1 Way She Won't Be Changing Her Hair Anytime Soon

Demi Moore likes the idea of going gray. Asked if she would ever consider silver tresses, she told People Magazine, 'Oh, 100%.' 'I look at women who have that incredible gray, especially long, and I think it's striking,' the star of 'The Substance' said. 'I would definitely do it.' At this point, Moore said she still waiting to really be able to lean into the look. 'I just don't have enough to make it interesting. Mine's like a smattering that makes my hair look murky,' she said, adding, 'I didn't really start coloring my hair until I was, like, 55.' Though Moore said she wouldn't mind embracing a new hue, she also told People there are a few hair styles she's not itching to go back to. Though she's perfectly rocked a pixie cut and famously buzzed off all her locks for her role in 1997′s 'G.I. Jane,' the star said she doesn't see herself getting a dramatic chop any time soon. 'I don't know, I feel fairly connected to my hair in a different kind of way,' the recent Oscar nominee told People. 'There's energy in hair, you know? But I never like to say never.' Moore's beauty confessions come in the wake of her critically-acclaimed turn in 'The Substance,' a dark, funny, campy and gory take on the ugly side of vanity and aging. Now 55, the star said she's never follow the same path as her character Elisabeth Sparkle, whose quest to recapture her youth ends up taking a ghastly turn. 'I also have thought recently about this idea that aging and being old are not the same thing,' she said during the Time100 Summit earlier this week. 'And somehow we've confused that and that aging actually is a tremendous gift.' 'I would not trade — you could not pay me to be 21,' Moore added. 'As good as it might sound, it was torture!' Originally appeared on E! Online Demi Moore is down to embrace aging full throttle. The Substance actress has become known for her long brunette hair over the past couple of decades in Hollywood, especially after having gone through so many hair transformations for films such as Ghost and G.I. Jane, so much so that she would have hard time letting it go. "I have grown quite attached to my hair," Demi told People in an interview for its World's Most Beautiful issue published April 25. "From a certain point of having had no hair." "I don't know, I feel fairly connected to my hair in a different kind of way," she added of the prospect of chopping off her signature locks again. "There's energy in hair, you know? But I never like to say never." But one change she would happily embrace? Gray hair, though only when it starts to come in in a more substantial way. "Oh 100%. I look at women who have that incredible gray, especially long, and I think it's striking," the 62-year-old shared. "I would definitely do it." More from E!
