Fire crews knock down quarry fire in Central El Paso
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Crews with the El Paso Fire Department quickly knocked down a fire at a quarry Sunday morning, May 11, in Central El Paso.
The incident happened minutes before 10 a.m. on May 11, when the Fire Department received reports of smoke at GCC Quarry, 4701 Alabama St.
According to El Paso Fire, crews located the smoke at the quarry and quickly knocked down the fire.
El Paso Fire said a tanker at the quarry had an oil leak and additional crews were called to help contain the leak.
El Paso Fire said there were no injuries or transports in the incident.
According to the Fire Department, 11 units were dispatched to the scene.
The Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
