India to punish Turkey more for supporting Pakistan as Modi govt plans to...

New Delhi: Former Major General of the Indian Army GD Bakshi has said that Turkey will have to pay a heavy price for providing weapons to Pakistan during Operation Sindoor against India. Just as it provided weapons to Pakistan, India must increase the military power of Turkey's arch enemy Greece in the war against it. He has proposed to Greece to buy BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. He explained how friendship with Turkey's arch enemy Greece and India's presence in the Eastern Mediterranean can create problems for Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Speaking to Greek website Directus, General GD Bakshi said that Greece can buy BrahMos supersonic missile, Akash air defense system and Pinaka missile launcher from India. These have also been tested in war and the whole world has seen their excellent performance. He said that BrahMos missile cannot be intercepted. General GD Bakshi said that India has made eight tanks, which have been developed into an artillery system. If Turkey has any dispute with Greece or Cyprus, then these countries can defeat Turkey with the help of Indian weapons. General GD Bakshi said that India would like to teach Turkey a lesson by helping Greece and Cyprus. He said, 'India destroyed the drones and weapons that Turkey had supplied to Pakistan, which also included two mobile command and control centers for the airbase.' General Bakshi said that India destroyed Pakistan's Noor Khan airbase and now Turkey is preparing to sell surface-to-air missiles to Pakistan because China's missiles betrayed Pakistan, which succumbed to India's power. He said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is dreaming of becoming the Caliph of the entire Muslim world. He said that Erdogan is dreaming of reviving the Ottoman Empire. He said that Turkey's economy is going down the drain, Erdogan is facing political problems at home and now he is trying to present himself as the Caliph of the Muslim world adding that Erdogan wants to become the center of the Muslim world by removing Saudi Arabia.

Rajasthan Deputy CM Diya Kumari, Major General GD Bakshi attend premiere of The Young Tank Commander

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 28 (ANI): On the occasion of National Superhero Day, the grand premiere of the film 'The Young Tank Commander' was held at PVR Mall in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. The film, based on the bravery of 2nd Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal (Param Vir Chakra), vividly showcases the heroic journey of one of the most courageous soldiers in the Indian Army. The special event was attended by prominent figures, including Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Major General GD Bakshi (Retd), a veteran of the 1971 India-Pakistan War and a batchmate of Arun Khetarpal. Alongside them, the film's producer Aditya Bakshi and Shreekishan Goswami attended in support of the film. 'The Young Tank Commander' takes audiences on a cinematic journey through the life and sacrifice of Arun Khetarpal, who became a martyr at the young age of 21 during the 1971 war. The film brings to life his unmatched courage and dedication to the nation. Speaking at the premiere, Diya Kumari expressed her gratitude to Major General GD Bakshi (Retd) for creating such an inspiring film. "First of all, I would like to thank Major General GD Bakshi ji, who made such an inspiring film based on the life of our Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal. Such films inspire the youth. I am also the daughter of a soldier. This film evokes feelings of nationalism and patriotism. It reminds us of the struggles and sacrifices that were made for our freedom. This effort is highly commendable," she said. Major General GD Bakshi (Retd), said the film is a tribute to his fallen friend, "Today, once again, the clouds of war are looming. What we showed you in the film is the story of the 1971 war, where Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal was martyred at the age of 21. He was my batchmate and a close friend." He added, "This film is my humble tribute to him. Many soldiers from Rajasthan were part of the 17 Horse (Pune Horse) regiment. Khetarpal will always remain 21. We had specially requested Deputy CM Diya Kumari to attend, so we could also pay tribute to her father, Brigadier Bhawani Singh, a Param Vir Chakra awardee. Bhawani Singh was also a great warrior who entered 80 kilometres into Pakistan in 1971 and destroyed the enemy's camps." In response to the recent attack in Pahalgam, Major General GD Bakshi (Retd) issued a call to action, emphasising the importance of standing up against attacks on Indians: "Now is the time to rise. You know what happened in Pahalgam. The Prime Minister has also given a clear message. Nothing more of this will be tolerated. When Indians are attacked, our blood should boil, not stay silent. This is the time to wake up," he said. On April 22, 26 people died in a terror attack in Pahalgam. The attack in Pahalgam is one of the deadliest attacks in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism. (ANI) First Published: 28 Apr 2025, 02:43 PM IST

New Delhi: In a blistering indictment of India's counterterrorism posture, Maj Gen (retd) G D Bakshi warns that the Pahalgam massacre, which claimed 26 Indian lives, was enabled by complacency, troop drawdowns, and a dangerous misreading of the ground situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Bakshi called for a decisive military response -- not symbolic airstrikes or covert tit-for-tat tactics. 'The Pakistani military is the prime terrorist organisation in that country,' he says, urging New Delhi to abandon illusions and prepare for full-spectrum retaliation. Drawing upon his extensive experience in counterinsurgency and command in Kashmir, Bakshi highlights the potential intelligence failures and the consequences of troop reductions in critical areas. A pall of gloom descended on Kashmir Valley on Wednesday as widespread condemnation and a complete protest shutdown followed the brutal killing of 16 people in Tuesday's terror attack. All trade, travel, industry, transport and educational institutions remained shut in the entire Valley on Wednesday after political, religious, social and professional organisations condemned the brutal killing of innocent people by terrorists in Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon. Eyewitnesses said the terrorists separated the men from the women and children. The men were told to recite the 'Kalima (A Muslim prayer)'. Those identified as non-Muslims were shot at point blank range while two locals, who reportedly protested against the brutal and inhuman behaviour of the killers were also shot dead. Tourists mainly belonging to Karnataka, Maharashtra, UP and Gujarat were the victims of the terror attack.
