Oman Vision 2040 unit wins Global Innovation Award
Muscat – The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit has been honoured with the Distinguished Innovation Enabler Award at the Global Innovation Summit 2025 in Dubai, securing a place among the top five countries globally. The award was presented in recognition of the unit's 'Institutional Innovation Guide' project, which has been lauded for its groundbreaking approach to fostering institutional innovation. The summit, held over two days in the Emirate of Dubai, saw the participation of a diverse range of thought leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from across the globe. The Global Innovation Institute (GInI) Awards, which aim to promote international cooperation and knowledge exchange on innovation, saw more than 2,400 projects from over 36 countries competing. The win is a significant milestone for Oman, reflecting the country's commitment to the goals and priorities outlined in Oman Vision 2040, launched under the guidance of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The Institutional Innovation Guide, published in the second quarter of 2024, is the first unified guide of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, serving as a model for institutional innovation across sectors. Dubai Culture's achievement underscores its commitment to pioneering cultural innovation, aligning with the Dubai Government Excellence objectives. The annual GInI awards programme, known as the 'Global Distinguished Innovator Awards,' witnessed the participation of 2,844 innovators representing 987 institutions across the Middle East, 657 from North and South America, 566 from Europe, and 634 from the Asia-Pacific region. The official recognition of innovation leaders took place during the awards ceremony at the Global Innovation Summit 2025, hosted by the GInI at The Sustainable City in Dubai on February 25 and 26. FTA Receives Innovative Government Entity Certification for Second Consecutive Year
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has once again been recognized for its commitment to innovation, securing the Innovative Government Entity certification (Advanced Level) for the second consecutive year. This accolade, awarded by the Global Innovation Institute (GInI) as part of UAE Innovation Month 2025 , underscores the FTA's dedication to fostering creativity, operational excellence, and sustainable tax solutions. In addition to this prestigious certification, the GInI awarded Level 3 Innovation Accreditation to three key FTA projects: EmaraTax – a comprehensive digital transformation system for tax operations. Maskan – a digital solution simplifying VAT refunds for UAE nationals building new homes. Muwafaq – an initiative aimed at supporting SMEs and encouraging voluntary tax compliance. These projects reflect the FTA's continuous efforts to enhance tax services and improve efficiency through cutting-edge innovation.
