Ex-NFL player's girlfriend shares claims of intense physical abuse

The post Ex-NFL player's girlfriend shares claims of intense physical abuse appeared first on ClutchPoints. Greg Hardy is once again at the center of serious allegations. According to documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the former NFL defensive end's girlfriend told police he physically assaulted her during a heated argument over alleged infidelity, per TMZ. The incident reportedly unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in Texas. Hardy's girlfriend claimed the two were returning home from the park with their children when tension began building. When Hardy asked what was wrong, she allegedly told him they would talk later — not wanting to argue in front of the kids. Once they got home, she confronted him about suspicious messages she had seen on his phone. She accused him of cheating while out of town. At that point, she said Hardy snapped. According to her statement, Hardy told her to get out of his face, then shoved her in the chest with both hands, knocking her onto the bed. She alleged he climbed on top of her and used one hand to press her neck down. She did not lose consciousness but said she struggled beneath him. When she kicked at him in defense, Hardy allegedly grabbed her legs and twisted her body in the process. Police were called to the scene around 2 PM. Officers noted visible scratches and redness on the woman's arms. When asked to rate her pain, she described it as a one on a scale of one to 10. Hardy, 36, had already left the home when officers arrived. Police said he fled in a white 2018 GMC Acadia but was later located and taken into custody at 2:29 p.m. local time. Online records show he was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member. As of Thursday morning, no bond had been set. This is not the first time Greg Hardy has faced troubling accusations. The former Pro Bowler's past includes a 2014 domestic violence case that effectively ended his NFL career. These new claims threaten to once again put his name in the spotlight — for all the wrong reasons. Lake County crash injures 3 after SUV strikes bus stop arm, several vehicles

BEACH PARK, Ill. — A crash in Beach Park sent three people to the hospital after an SUV struck a school bus arm before colliding with several vehicles on Tuesday morning. Lake County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area of Sheridan Road and Michigan Boulevard on reports of a traffic crash with injuries at 8 a.m. A preliminary investigation shows a GMC Acadia, driven by a 74-year-old man, was traveling northbound on Sheridan Road, and for an unknown reason, struck the stop arm of a loading school bus. The GMC continued northbound and sideswiped a Ford Focus, driven by a 49-year-old man, causing the Ford Focus to crash into a utility pole, police say. According to police, the GMC then struck a Chevrolet Colorado, driven by a 39-year-old man, and a Ford Flex, driven by a 28-year-old woman. The children who were boarding the bus were not injured nor was the driver of the Ford Flex, police say. The driver of the GMC was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, and the drivers of the Ford Focus and Chevrolet Colorado were transported with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe the driver of the GMC might have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. The Lake County Sheriff's Office Technical Crash Investigations Team is still investigating. London man indicted for vehicular homicide, wanton endangerment

Topping the Friday, May 16, return of indictments by the Laurel County Grand Jury was a London man indicted on 10 counts, including vehicular homicide. Timothy A. Wells, 60, of Osborne Cemetery Road, has been indicted on charges which stem from a June 2024 crash that resulted in one death and several injuries. According to the indictment, Wells was under the influence of intoxicants while driving a Ford pickup westbound on KY 192 on June 30, 2024, when he caused a fatal crash that resulted in the death of Phyllis Hale, 56. Gary Hale was a passenger in Ms. Hale's Nissan minivan alongside a five-year-old and an eight-year-old. In addition to vehicular homicide, Wells is charged with three counts of first-degree assault for injuries caused to the passengers. Counts five through nine charge Wells with first-degree wanton endangerment. Each of the counts relate to a GMC Acadia which Wells also reportedly collided with. Five victims are listed in that crash — including Hailee Hubbard, Dylan Baker, and three children. Finally, the last count charges Wells with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants — a first offense. The crash was investigated by the London Police Department. Wells' bond is set at $50,000 cash at this time. He will return to Laurel Circuit Court Wednesday, July 16, at 9 a.m. for a status hearing. An indictment is an accusation only and does not imply guilt or innocence. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
