Playboi Carti joins Kendrick Lamar in trolling A$AP Relli after 'Good Credit' diss on new album

Playboi Carti has once again stirred the pot on social media, this time trolling ASAP Relli following Kendrick Lamar's diss on his latest track. While Carti didn't contribute any disses on his album MUSIC, he certainly made his feelings known in the wake of Kendrick Lamar's fiery verse. Lamar took aim at ASAP Relli in his song GOOD CREDIT, rapping, 'Belly on chain go big, white gold link fall on the belly / The emerald cuff for hers and his, that b*tch on point like ASAP Relli,' a direct jab at Relli, who had accused ASAP Rocky during a 2021 criminal trial. Though Carti didn't initially get involved, he shared a photo on Instagram late Friday night, showing ASAP Relli pointing in court with no caption, signaling his agreement with Lamar's diss. It seems Carti is all too willing to co-sign Lamar's stance on Relli, adding his own layer of commentary to the ongoing controversy. In the midst of the drama surrounding the ASAP Rocky trial, Relli has been outspoken about the toll it's taken on his life. He spoke out in court, claiming that the trial and public attention had turned his life into a 'living hell.' He shared that he was receiving death threats, even targeting his family, during the high-profile case. Despite his claims, the hip-hop community has largely supported Rocky, with figures like Kanye West and 50 Cent congratulating him after his acquittal. Kendrick Lamar and Playboi Carti now join the list of stars voicing their support for Rocky. While Relli has had a strained relationship with the industry, his discontent has not gone unnoticed. Playboi Carti, who worked with Relli on the 2017 songs RAF and New Choppa, seems to be weighing in on the ongoing drama, making his support for Rocky known in his own way.

Ye Says He 'Don't Like' Kendrick Lamar's Music, Gets Reaction From TDE's Punch

It looks like Ye has had a change of mind when it comes to Kendrick Lamar, recently claiming that he doesn't like the Grammy-winner's music and that he should've been left off of Playboi Carti's new album, I Am Music. Ye shared his feelings after giving the album a spin Friday (March 14) morning, apparently taking notice of K. Dot locking down not one, but three features on the highly-anticipated work. The Compton rapper can be found on 'GOOD CREDIT,' 'MOJO JOJO' and 'BACKD00R.' 'I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM,' Ye posted to his X page. The revelation was a surprising one for some Hip-Hop fans, as Ye and Lamar previously collaborated on The Life of Pablo track, 'No More Parties In L.A.' Ye later revealed that he and Lamar have over 40 unreleased songs together from his TLOP recording sessions. The Chicago artist also felt the need to jump on the remix to Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick's hit, 'Like That,' declaring that he had the wordsmith's back, saying, 'Dot, I got you,' before getting his verse off. Ye's post spawned a reaction from Lamar's former label head, TDE's Terrence 'Punch' Henderson, who posted to his X account, 'Aye… What's up with this Kanye West ni**a??' The Breakfast Club host Charlamagne Tha God previously asserted that West is jealous of Lamar's current success, and attempted to steal his shine through a string of antics the week leading up to Dot's Super Bowl Halftime Show. Ye also dropped a song the day of the Super Bowl, further fueling assumptions of envy. His latest post will, no doubt, contribute to this narrative. Ye also had a change of mind when it comes to former adversary Drake, recently saying he 'loves' the hit-maker and wants the part-time crooner to speak at his funeral. Kendrick Lamar Takes Shot At A$AP Relli On Playboi Carti Track 'GOOD CREDIT'

Kendrick Lamar's much discussed features on Playboi Carti's new album, I Am Music, did not disappoint, with one verse on the song 'GOOD CREDIT' referencing A$AP Relli taking the stand against A$AP Rocky After Carti sets the mood, the Compton rhymer takes over the track 1:45 in, boasting of the blinding Eliantte jewelry that he shares with his lady, comparing the gems' quality to Relli's actions during his testimony. 'Eliantte go big, white gold link fall on the belly/The emerald cuff for hers and his, that bit*h on point like A$AP Relli,' Dot raps. The line references the Harlem native's testimony, as he pointed out Rocky in court as the guilty party. Rocky was charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, but ultimately won his case. Pointers are also a weight measurement for diamonds smaller than one carat, so it also fits into Lamar's jewelry scheme. While A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, beat the case, Relli, né Terrell Ephron, is still seeking a win, and will be moving forward with a civil lawsuit accusing his former associate of assault. 'GOOD CREDIT' aside, the Grammy-winning artist is also featured on 'MOJO JOJO' and 'BACKD00R' which also features vocals from Lamar's 'Luther' collaborator, SZA. Listen to all three tracks below. Playboi Carti finally drops ‘I AM MUSIC' with not one, but three fiery Kendrick Lamar appearances

After years of anticipation, delays and cryptic teases, Playboi Carti finally unleashed his long-awaited album, I AM MUSIC. While fans had grown accustomed to his unpredictable rollout strategies, this one tested their patience like never before — what was initially expected to drop at midnight Friday (March 14) kept getting pushed back, inching toward the morning hours until it finally arrived around 7:30 a.m. ET. Yet, if there's one thing history has proven, it's that when Carti eventually delivers, the culture takes notice. Trending The Fresh Prince meets the Swamp Princess in viral 'Anxiety' TikTok matchup Shyne concedes defeat in Belize election with grace: 'The people have spoken' Top-tier toxicity! Drake's 10 best dirty mackin' bars for your enjoyment Spanning 30 tracks, I AM MUSIC is an ambitious statement from an artist who solidified himself as one of Hip Hop's most dynamic figures. The album boasts an impressive roster of guest features, including Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Ty Dolla Sign and Skepta. The most talked-about collaborator is none other than Kendrick Lamar, who appears not once, but on three tracks: 'GOOD CREDIT,' 'MOJO JOJO' and 'BACKD00R.' Lamar's presence is always a world-halting occasion, but his verse on 'GOOD CREDIT' has already sparked widespread discussion. 'Belly on chain go big, white gold link fall on the belly/ The emerald cuff for hers and his, that b**ch on point like ASAP Relli,' he rapped, a clear and direct reference to a recent situation involving ASAP Rocky. The line instantly became one of the album's most analyzed moments, reinforcing Lamar's ability to command attention with just a few bars. Beyond its star-studded collaborations, I AM MUSIC represents a bold artistic evolution for Carti. Initially rumored to be titled Narcissist, the album underwent years of experimentation, with the Atlanta star reportedly immersing himself in a cave-like Parisian studio to refine its sound. This period of creative isolation clearly influenced the record's raw, avant-garde energy. The title itself, prominently displayed in overlayed fonts on the cover, feels like a defiant proclamation and a challenge to all critics. Additionally, the album's timing is impeccable, given his approaching headlining performance at Rolling Loud California on Sunday (March 16). Over the past several years, Carti transitioned from a cult favorite to a full-fledged superstar. Whether through his boundary-pushing production or his ability to dominate cultural conversations, the AWGE signee has once again proven he is one of the most compelling artists of his generation. If the early reactions are any indication, I AM MUSIC was well worth the wait.
