1,500-Mile 2006 Shelby GT-H Mustang Offered in Pristine, Never-Rented Condition
⚡️ Read the full article on Motorious A rare 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H with just 1,519 miles on the odometer is now being offered from The Carolina Collection, representing one of the lowest-mileage and best-preserved examples of the special-edition Hertz Shelby ever built. In 2006, Ford and Shelby American revived a legendary collaboration from the 1960s to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original 'Rent-A-Racer,' the 1966 GT350H. Based on the S197 Mustang GT, the modern GT-H paid tribute with signature Shadow Black paint and gold Le Mans stripes. Only 500 units were built, all exclusively for Hertz rental fleets — except a small number, like this car, which were retained for promotional use and never rented to the public. Number 472 of the 500-unit run, this Shelby GT-H was never part of the Hertz rental program. Instead, it was used strictly for promotional purposes and has been meticulously preserved throughout its life, now showing just 1,519 actual miles. Under the hood is a 4.6-liter, three-valve V8 engine enhanced with Ford's FR1 Power Pack, raising output to 325 horsepower. Paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and the FR3 Ford Racing Handling Package, the car delivers sharp, responsive performance while maintaining daily driving ease. Shelby visual cues include a retro-style grille, hood scoop, side scoops, and 17-inch chrome wheels. Inside, black leather upholstery and the Shaker 500 audio system round out the package. The car is listed in the Shelby Registry and comes with original Shelby paperwork, a certificate of authenticity, and its window sticker. A clean CARFAX confirms the car has had only three owners, residing in Utah and South Carolina before joining The Carolina Collection in 2024. This showroom-quality GT-H presents a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire an iconic piece of Shelby and Ford performance history — untouched by rental duty and virtually as-delivered from Las Vegas. 1966 Shelby GT350H Abandoned In Yard Finally Rescued
⚡️ Read the full article on Motorious Barn finds are exciting things people always want to hear about, but this story of a 1966 Shelby GT350H which was found in a backyard in Ohio is just as interesting as any barn find, if not more so. To start, it sat in that yard since the early 1980s, so around four decades, and somehow isn't a pile of rust. The poor classic muscle car sunk partway into the ground and certain parts of it are about as brittle as graham cracker, but it survived harsh winters and hot summers alike for all those years. Just to pull the carout of its sunken resting spot, it required a lawyer to draft up legal documents absolving the tow truck company and rescue team of responsibility if the Shelbywere to fall apart. She sure doesn't look pretty, with plenty of crackling and bubbling paint. Still, you can clearly see the Raven Black with those iconic gold stripes, so it's clear to even a casual enthusiast what it is. The process of rescuing this car has been slow, as is so often the case. The guy who originally found it first got a glimpse after following wild stories back in April of 2015. Through negotiations they finally were able to move on the car, which is largely original but certainly needs a comprehensive restoration. Naturally, the big question to ask is if rescuing the car is worth all this effort? It might seem ridiculous, but current average values are almost $130,000. So even if they sink $80,000 into restoring the car and get an average return, it's a cool $50,000 net profit. What would you do to earn $50,000? This amazing video and story comes via Jerry Heasley's YouTube channel. He's a freelance automotive journalist and has a knack for these unique vehicle finds.
