Man Is Restoring Modern Shelby GT350R Wearing Expensive Modifications
⚡️ Read the full article on Motorious A lot of people love the modern Shelby GT350Rwith its flat plane-crank Voodoo V8 engine, which sounds just unearthly, carbon-fiber wheels, etc. It's a true track toy with few comforts, although it's not nearly as stripped-down as the original. Also, this modern muscle car is a hot collector's item, so a lot of people buy these and keep them absolutely perfect in hopes of making a ton of money. That's why it's shocking to see someone yanked off factory parts from a GT350R and installed aftermarket mods. Don't worry, though, because Samcrac is restoring everything to factory spec You might not believe this, but now has been the best time ever to buy a Shelby GT350 since the cars launched. As Samcrac explains, the launch of the C8 Corvette and Shelby GT500 have stolen the spotlight. Some people are even dumping their old Shelby to get one of those new cars. However, the GT350Rs are far rarer, thanks to Ford seriously limiting production. You'd hope the higher price and exclusive nature would prevent people from ruining such a track-focused vehicle, but then if you see what happens to Lamborghinis you'd know better. The previous owner slapped about $15,000 of modifications on this Shelby GT350R with the aim of improving track performance. Samcrac said that devalued the car so much it was worth the same as a regular GT350 on the market. Yikes. If you don't want to do the math, that's about a $20,000 drop in value. However, the guy who owned it actually took the car to the track, unlike collectors who have a track-ready car with 120 miles on it and have never dared do one burnout. So which is worse? Topping the list as the most expensive mod for the Shelby are AP Racing lightweight brake calipers and rotors for the front. The setup drops 29 pounds of unsprung weight, which is incredible, but the $4,400 price tag is hard for a lot of people to stomach. Thankfully, the previous owner was smart and kept all the OE parts he removed, because that's a good idea. The second owner might really thank you for doing so, plus it's a good selling point if you don't want to remove the modifications before listing it for sale. What do you think about this Shelby GT350R and its modifications? Should a car like this be kept stock for resale value or modded and tracked for the fun of it? Sound off below. Shelby American Revives the GT350 Nameplate with a Roaring 810-HP Mustang
⚡️ Read the full article on Motorious The GT350 is back, and this time, Shelby American is steering the wheel. Sixty years after introducing the GT350 and GT350R as race-ready Mustangs, Shelby has revived the legendary nameplate with its own high-powered, track-focused iteration. Unlike the Ford-produced GT350s of recent decades, this model is fully crafted by Shelby American, marking a significant shift in ownership of the badge. Under the hood, the new Shelby GT350 boasts a supercharged version of the Mustang GT's standard Coyote V-8 engine, delivering a jaw-dropping 810 horsepower. This powertrain, coupled with a Shelby-tuned Borla exhaust, propels the GT350 far beyond its original small-block roots. Additional performance upgrades include lowering springs, front and rear sway bars, and a short-throw shifter for manual-equipped models, ensuring the car is as thrilling to handle as it is to drive. Shelby hasn't stopped at performance, either. The GT350 gets re-covered leather seats, a unique grille, and exclusive design elements, setting it apart visually from standard Mustangs. For buyers craving more, the GT350R offers a track-focused experience with carbon fiber enhancements, JRI race struts, and other advanced chassis upgrades. Limited to just 36 units, the R model emphasizes exclusivity and performance. The base price for the Shelby GT350 starts at $109,995, provided it's built on a 2025 Mustang GT with a manual transmission. In some states, the supercharger is sold separately due to regulatory restrictions, meaning certain GT350s may retain the Mustang GT's stock 480-horsepower output. Pricing for the GT350R and the optional supercharger has yet to be announced. With this revival, Shelby American cements its legacy of pushing Mustang performance to new heights, offering enthusiasts an unrivaled combination of power, heritage, and exclusivity. If you can handle the price tag, the GT350 promises to deliver an unforgettable ride.

Shelby Mustang GT350 And GT350R Return With Up To 830 Supercharged Horsepower
If you've been mourning the death of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 these last five years, you can dry your tears. The GT350 and GT350R have returned for the latest seventh-gen S650 Mustang. You'll just have to go through Shelby American if you want to buy one, as Ford no longer licenses the Shelby GT350 name for itself. The 2025 Shelby GT350 and GT350R officially made their debut at the 2025 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The car's debut coincides with the 60th anniversary of Carroll Shelby introducing the first GT350 on January 27 1965, as CEO Joe Conway said in a release: Sixty years ago, the Shelby GT350 marked a new chapter in performance and motorsports history. It was Shelby's first model based on the Ford Mustang, the perfect follow-up to the ground-breaking Shelby Cobra. Shelby American poured its performance expertise into the 1965 Mustang, turning it into an iconic international sports car. We followed the same strategy for 2025 and collaborated with industry leaders to create this very special Shelby car. Shelby gives buyers options depending on how they want to spec their GT350. If you just want all the Shelby looks and handling performance, you can stick with the Mustang's stock 5.0-liter V8 with 480 horsepower. Go for the supercharged version and output is increased to 810 horsepower. The GT350 also gets lowering springs, 20-inch forged wheels, a catback exhaust system by Borla, a short-throw shifter for manual-equipped cars, performance tires, unique interior trim and special production plaques. Visually, GT350s have an aluminum hood with a center vent, a lower front splitter, a different grille with wider intakes, and a rear ducktail spoiler. If that 810 horsepower isn't enough for you, you can go hardcore with the also supercharged Shelby GT350R, which makes 830 hp. It comes with a bunch more performance goodies so it can easily stand up to track duty. The interior trim, shift knob, hood and fender vents, splitter, spoiler and diffuser are all made out of carbon fiber. Shelby also stiffened the chassis and gave it a carbon-fiber wing, side-exit exhaust with Borla tips, performance tires, a four-point cage, racing brakes, a heavy duty cooling system and adjustable JRI racing shocks. Shelby American says both the GT350 and GT350R will be made in Michigan by Turn Key Motorsports. Turn Key owner Rich Rinke said he and his company are excited to be working with Shelby to bring these cars to market. We're honored to help Shelby American return one of the most iconic names to the track. We are excited to assist Shelby by bridging the connection between consumer and racing. For those who have track experience, the Shelby GT350R offers a high level of performance in a street-legal package. Of course, none of this performance comes cheap. While Shelby has yet to announce pricing on the GT350R, the standard GT350 will start at $109,995, which Shelby hilariously describes as 'affordable.' Keep in mind that includes the $48,850 price of a standard Ford Mustang GT equipped with a manual transmission and the standard 300A equipment group. You'll also get a 3-year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty from Ford. If you want to buy one, you better act fast. Keeping with the nostalgia that is the return of the GT350, Shelby American says it's only making 562 GT350s, a number that includes the GT350Rs, just as Shelby did originally in 1965.
