GTA 6 fans are convinced Liberty City is making a return
Source: Rockstar Games The GTA 6 rumor mill is buzzing, and one of the most convincing theories centers on the possible return of Liberty City. Fans have pointed out several instances of the classic city being referenced in trailers and screenshots, so many that they figure it's likely more than an Easter egg. As a mission hub or eventual DLC, Liberty City might return in a big way. Why fans believe Liberty City is more than merely a background nod Hints scattered throughout GTA 6's second trailer have fans believing Liberty City is going to play a part in the next game. A Liberty City license plate, a Liberty City Cycles hat, and the implication that Lucia might have origins in the northern city have all sparked massive debate. One fan wrote 'There is a good chance that it is included in the game, and even if we are not able to fully explore it, I'm pretty sure we will visit Liberty City at some point in the game for a mission. It doesn't make sense for Rockstar to mention it and not have us visit it once in the game.' The theory isn't solely about a one-off visit, either. Many thinks Liberty City might have a bigger role to play, maybe in a mission-based segment or even as an interconnected city via Rockstar's changing world-building. The future of Liberty City: Missions, expansions, or something more? Rockstar has a tradition of revisiting previous cities through either missions or expansions. In GTA: San Andreas, for example, players had a brief visit to Liberty City for one mission. The same mechanic in GTA 6 isn't impossible. One fan guessed, "I think we will see a return to Liberty City. Whether it will be a full blown, visit anytime situation or just a few missions is to be revealed later." Some also think that even more cities may be coming in the future: "Just to make the world feel more real as irl you have people from multiple cities/states everywhere. I do however believe both Liberty State and San Andreas will be added onto the map later on." Though Rockstar hasn't officially announced anything, the indications, and the fan base, argue for Liberty City's return quite compellingly. Whether it's a cameo appearance or a complete addition, the legendary city appears to be set to play some part in the ongoing GTA universe once again. Speculation continues to grow about the presence of UFOs and aliens in GTA 6
Source: Rockstar Games Rockstar Games enthusiasts are abuzz with anticipation and speculation as rumors continue to build about the potential inclusion of UFOs and alien encounters in the new Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). Drawing from a legacy of cryptic extraterrestrial Easter eggs in earlier Rockstar games, numerous gamers eagerly anticipate that the new title will feature similar or even more sophisticated alien-centric content. Although no confirmation has been officially announced, the subject is a popular topic among gaming forums. Increased hype for UFOs and alien material in GTA 6 Speculation that GTA 6 could feature aliens or UFOs has mounted following eagle-eyed fans discovering a background detail in a post that simply stated, "Alien activity in the area." While short and mysterious, the statement has gone viral, prompting widespread debate throughout Reddit, Discord, and other fan forums. Many now speculate that this unnoticed text is Rockstar Games hinting at extraterrestrial material in the new game. The theory isn't unfounded, Rockstar has a tradition of adding alien-themed Easter eggs that goes back years, from the secret UFOs in GTA: San Andreas to elaborate alien sightings in GTA V, GTA Online, and even Red Dead Redemption 2. The "Alien activity in the area" is just another breadcrumb in the developer's history of dropping cryptic clues that slowly develop after launch. Though Rockstar has not as yet confirmed any alien life in GTA 6, the viral status of this basic phrase has ignited a wave of speculation, with players thoroughly scrutinizing each frame of leaked gameplay and marketing material for further hints. Whether it be a red herring or an actual teaser, the community is already set up for the expectation of something not of this world lurking in the game. Context and what Rockstar has released so far Even with the hype, Rockstar Games has not announced any officially confirmed alien-themed features in GTA 6. So far, no announcements, trailers, or developer interviews have touched on the subject of UFOs or alien encounters. Rockstar has kept the content of the game a secret, which only fueled speculations among fans. Rockstar's history of including Easter eggs and mysteries makes it plausible that alien content could be part of GTA 6, but until the company provides an official reveal, all discussions remain speculative. The developer's previous games have built a reputation for hidden secrets that reward exploration and discovery, so many players are hopeful that GTA 6 will continue this tradition. Speculation regarding UFOs and aliens in GTA 6 continues to be high, driven by Rockstar's previous Easter eggs, leaks, and passionate community chatter. As of now, no confirmation has been issued, and fans can't help but look forward to more news, hopefully with extraterrestrial delights as part of the game's affluent, immersive universe. Until Rockstar releases more information, aliens in GTA 6 are an intriguing enigma. GTA 6 Trailer 2 was watched more than any movie trailer in history says Rockstar
Rockstar says its new GTA 6 trailer does feature gameplay and has garnered more views in its first day than any trailer ever. After Rockstar Games and Take-Two admitted GTA 6 would not meet its autumn release window, and will instead launch next year, they softened the blow with a surprise new trailer. While it was hugely impressive in terms of the graphics, and some new information regarding its cast of characters was shared via a website update, the trailer appears to consist entirely of cut scenes, with no sign of actual gameplay. To ward off doubters, Rockstar itself has since clarified that the trailer is 'comprised of equal parts gameplay and cut scenes' and was 'captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5.' Obviously, any gameplay shown is being framed differently to how it will look when you sit down and play it for yourself. Game trailers typically remove HUD elements and use camera angles not possible when you're playing, to help make things seem more cinematic and exciting. However, knowing this does make it a bit easier to gauge when the cut scenes end and the gameplay begins. Shots of protagonists Jason and Lucia driving vehicles could be gameplay, as well as the shot of Jason weightlifting, which some theorise confirms the return of the weightlifting mechanic from GTA: San Andreas. This also further emphasises just how good GTA 6 looks visually, when its gameplay is indistinguishable from its cut scenes. Plus, you apparently don't need the more powerful PS5 Pro to enjoy the graphics. Granted, in its X post about the new trailer, Rockstar doesn't specifically say that the footage in the trailer is running on a base PlayStation 5. But, if it were captured on PS5 Pro, surely Sony would want Rockstar to specify that, if only to try and encourage people into upgrading their console. Despite the doubts about its gameplay, the new GTA 6 trailer has proved incredibly popular. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it saw over 475 million views in its first 24 hours. That's more than the first trailer in 2023 achieved in the same time frame (93 million views), with Rockstar adding that this makes GTA 6's second trailer the biggest video launch of all time. That means it was watched more in the first 24 hours than the trailer for any other medium, including movies. The closest any film has got is 365 million for Deadpool & Wolverine. More Trending At the time of writing, the trailer's total view count on YouTube is over 84 million, so it still has a long way to go to catch up to the first trailer's total of 255 million. The only thing that could prevent that is if a new trailer is released relatively soon after – since Trailer 1 had a year and a half to rack up its total. The song featured in the trailer – Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters – has benefited from its inclusion too. According to Spotify, streams of the song jumped by a staggering 182,000% following the trailer's release. There's no clue as to when Trailer 3 will arrive but when it does it will likely feature more obvious gameplay footage and hopefully some details about gameplay features and modes. GTA 6 won't be out for another 12 months though, on May 26, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, so there's another long wait ahead.
