The intergalactic barbarians known as GWAR have unleashed a new single titled 'The Great Circus Train Disaster.' The song appears on the band's upcoming multimedia release, The Return of Gor Gor, set to arrive July 25 via Pit Records and Z2 Comics. 'The Great Circus Train Disaster' follows previous single 'Lot Lizard,' which Heavy Consequence named its Heavy Song of the Week upon its release in April. Get GWAR Tickets Here Guitarist Grodius Maximus stated of the new track, 'The song just kinda came to us one day while we were all hanging out injecting ketamine and crushed-up insects into our dick holes. We were fucked up for days as we experienced hallucinations of charred clown bodies, lobster people impaled on stalagmites, and the unholy image of our pet baby dinosaur being whored out as sexual meat to a greasy mass of scabies encrusted republicans and greased up catholic priests. When we came to, the song was fully formed. All we had to do was hit record and BOOM…'The Great Circus Train Disaster' was born.' He continued, 'Now, MTV and Def Jam Recordings are knocking down our door. Charlie XCX, Slipknot, and Garth Brooks all want to collaborate with us, and to be honest, this type of success is just a bit overwhelming. Yeah, we get it. We're amazing songwriters… Deal with it!' The new single and upcoming album are all part of GWAR's 40th anniversary celebration, which includes a current North American tour that runs through a June 21st show in Pelham, Tennessee. GWAR storms Richmond Waffle House after coffee launch
Members of GWAR, Richmond's homegrown costume metal band, popped by a Henrico Waffle House on Saturday night. Why it matters: Richmond might be the only city in the world where it's perfectly normal(ish) to see two middle-aged men dressed in little more than loincloths and leather masks in a Waffle House. Driving the news: GWAR was in town and in costume for the launch of their new"Berserker Mode" coffee, a "savagely sticky with muddy molassesness and foul-fruited candy sweetness" collab with Concept Cafes Coffee, per the website. The launch was at GWARbar, of course. It looks like some of the members stopped by the Waffle House on Parham near Staples Mill after the event, where a diner captured some of the band at play and posted the video on Instagram. What's next: The members appeared to be making a video of their own, so stay tuned.

The new Bohab fuel is a bold, medium roast that is described as 'savagely sticky in it's muddy molassesness and foul-fruited candy sweetness, a real teeth-grinder roasted highest on the pyre,' per the back of the bag, which features GWAR's iconic artwork. As the band's press release tells it, 'Blothar the Berserker — frontman of the greatest shock rock band in the history of the universe, GWAR — once roamed the icy seas in a Viking longship. Lost and alone, he was lured by a green, split-tailed mermaid, her siren song calling him to the Indonesian archipelago. But his love was unrequited, and in his sorrow, Blothar wept like a 1000-pound baby.' 'From his bitter tears,' the story continues, 'coffee plants sprouted across the land of Java. And thus, Berserker Mode Coffee was born — a heady and powerful drink, crafted to fuel his rage before battle. Historians may claim Viking berserkers were jacked up on psychedelics, but GWAR knows the truth: it was coffee that drove them to insane battle-lust!' Stated Blothar himself: 'The best part of getting blackout drunk is Berserker Mode Coffee. Each sip is infused with the bitter sorrow of unrequited love and that nagging feeling that something really weird happened last night. Berserker Mode Coffee is a savage brew fit for shock rock royalty. I sure feel like the King on my throne after sucking down a pot.' In reality, Berserker Mode was roasted by Coterie Coffee Co. and can be ordered in 12 ounce allotments ($21.99) via Concept Cafes (pre-orders ship on March 10th). And if you find yourself a getting little too jacked on the new roast, you might go the other direction with a bit of GWAR's Bud of Gods CBD products, available via the Consequence shop. As for GWAR, the Scumdogs are set to embark on a run of 40th anniversary shows in May (get tickets here).
