Dozens of metro Detroit restaurants have Valentine's Day specials
Oh, Valentine's Day celebrants. Love is in the air with the annual day for celebrating sweeties fast approaching. It's on a Friday this year!
If dining out is your plan, make a reservation — and soon. Metro Detroit hot spots known for special occasions are already slammed or booked with reservations for Valentine's Day.
Restaurants and chefs are front and center with specially curated experiences, menu specials and special touches for Valentine's Day. Some are also offering Galentine's Day specials on Feb. 13. Galentine's Day, which is a way to honor female friendships, got its start with hit sitcom 'Parks and Recreation" more than a decade ago. Whether dress-up fancy dining or an intimate or casual spot is what you're after with your sweetie, here's a sampling of dinners and special events around metro Detroit. Be sure to check restaurant websites for hours, specials and reservations as many use online reservation companies such as OpenTable or Resy.
Adelina chefs Gabriel Botezan and Marco Dalla Fontana's preset Valentine's Day menu is offered Friday-Saturday. The four-course meal is $100 per person that features Wagyu meatballs, salads, entrée choices of pasta, branzino or lamb chops plus dessert.

This modern Italian spot is offering a three-course plus dessert menu with several choices. It's $85 per person and features appetizers such as shrimp diavolo, pasta and entrée choices of branzino, filet or lamb chops. The meal includes live music and a complimentary rose.

The standard menu plus chef specials and specialty cocktails will be offered Friday and Saturday. Heart-shaped ravioli, oyster and shrimp platters are on the menu. There will be live entertainment and a complimentary rose.

Four-course prix-fixe dinner is $69 per person and offered Monday through Feb. 16. Courses include choice of appetizers, entrees, salad and dessert.

From Friday through Sunday, the restaurants are featuring $30 lunch and dinner specials for two. Choose two entrees plus a dessert to share and two Pepsi products. Inside the historic Book Tower at 1265 Washington Blvd., here's what several eateries are offering for Valentine's Day.
● Hiroki-San: Specials at the lower-level spot include a Hiramasa crudo with strawberry ponzu and, fresno oroshi for $16 and a marinated lamb chop ($74) served with Japanese potato purée and miso mustard.
● Kamper's Rooftop Lounge: The Valentine's Day menu features a tapas trio of Hamachi crudo, ribeye carpaccio and lobster croquettes with Jamon aioli for $35. The cocktail feature is sans flowers with Patron Cristalino additive-free tequila, mezcal foam, passion fruit and watermelon radish for $19.
● Le Suprême: Noted for honoring Deroit's French roots and for being a Detroit Free Press/Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers 2024 Top 10 Best New Restaurant, Le Suprême features a beef Wellington special with wild mushroom duxelles, Bordelaise and pommes Robuchon for $58. Croquembouche for two ($22) is on the dessert pairings available at various bottle and glass prices.
Looking to celebrate Valentine's or Galentine's Day at a dive bar? Look no further than Carbon Athletic Club. Typically a members-only venue, the club will open its doors for a special ticketed dinner and paint event on Wednesday. Enjoy a four-course bar snack menu, with drinks available for purchase (cash only). Dinner is $45. Make it a full experience with dinner and supplies to paint who you came with for $75.

Two Valentine's Day events are planned, one at the Whiskey Factory and another at the Tasting Room. A single ticket to each event is $10, with food and drinks available for purchase. At the Whiskey Factory, the upstairs space will be transformed into a candlelit lounge, with separate seatings available at 5 and 9 p.m. At the Tasting Room, tickets include a cocktail. Seatings are available at 5, 6:30 and 8 p.m.

Macray's annual Valentine's Day Murder Mystery Dinner is set for 7 p.m. on Valentine's Day. This year's theme is 'Death of a Gangster' and takes couples back to the roaring 1920s and a high-profile wedding. The evening includes suspense and drama paired with dinner and cash bar. Guests are asked to dress in keeping with the theme.
General admission tickets are $58.30 plus a $2 fee for the dinner and show. A premiere ticket is $68.90 plus a $2 fee for dinner, show and one drink ticket.

One-Eyed Betty's hosts its annual Lonely Heart's Dinner with a prix fixe Valentine's Day menu that's $50 per person and includes an appetizer, one of three entrees, dessert and a Valentine's Day cocktail.

This lounge next to Mootz Pizzeria + Bar has a fixed-price Valentine's Day special available Friday-Sunday. It's $65 for two and includes garlic knots, two 10-inch build-your-own pizzas, a slice of red velvet cake and a bottle of house red or white wine.

From Monday through Feb. 16, Sullivan's is offering its $199 Tomahawk Trio for Two, featuring a 32-ounce Australian Wagyu tomahawk ribeye with two lobster tails plus a bottle of Gruet Brut sparkling wine. The steakhouse is also introducing two seasonal cocktails: Love Bug and Burning Love.

● PJ party: Revelers get a glass of champagne, strolling charcuterie, board games, Valentine's Day cocktails, DJ entertainment and club tours. PJ's are encouraged. Tickets are $1 per person. 7 p.m. Valentine's Day dinner is $42 per person and includes rainbow trout with champagne beurre blanc, smoked trout roe, broccoli rabe, pomme purée.

Detroit City Distillery's Whiskey Factory in Eastern Market is serving up cocktails, flowers and friendship for Galentine's Day, from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Tickets include a cocktail and a small DIY flower bouquet. Guests can purchase craft drinks and select from several menu items from Two Unique Catering.
