The week-long programme will engage students in recreational activities and language learning sessions, including regional dialects and languages from various Indian states.
"Select schools with more than 50 pupils will host these camps. The curriculum encompasses instruction in Kannada,Telugu, Marathi, and Sanskrit, alongside local dialects of Uttarakhand including Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari, and Rang.
This initiative will help students build confidence and increase adaptability while pursuing higher education or job opportunities outside the state," said Gajendra Singh Saun, additional director of secondary education, Kumaon division.
The administration has confirmed the appointment of language specialists to specific camps for quality instruction, with all necessary arrangements in place. Officials also said the programme will involve volunteers, including bank officials, central govt employees, and other professionals – who will teach their native languages alongside school teachers – in order to offer students a genuine language exposure.
The camp will also engage students in daily four-hour sessions of recreational activities – including gardening, handicrafts, music, storytelling, poetry composition, and sports. The midday meal scheme will be provided for younger participants to ensure proper nourishment during the programme.
