Gakpo would only consider Liverpool exit for ‘three clubs'

Gakpo would only consider Liverpool exit for 'three clubs' Cody Gakpo would only consider leaving Liverpool this summer for 'three clubs' amid reports of a potential exit. Gakpo is not considered untouchable this summer amid interest in the winger, with Liverpool willing to sell if a suitable offer is received. Bayern Munich are interested, as the German champions seek the signing of a high-profile left-winger. Initial enquiries have been made, though Bayern are considering multiple options. The Bundesliga side are also keen on AC Milan winger Rafael Leao and Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma. Advertisement Sky Germany are reporting that Bayern are one of just three clubs that Gakpo would consider leaving Liverpool for this summer. The 26-year-old enjoyed his most productive campaign with Liverpool in 2024/25. He scored 18 times in all competitions and provided seven assists as the Reds won the Premier League title. Liverpool are not actively looking to offload the Dutchman but would reportedly consider offers of around €90m (£75.7m). The Reds are working on a deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and the German's arrival is set to lead to at least one forward exit. Luis Diaz is understood to be a transfer target for Barcelona, while there is also interest in Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez. Liverpool face transfer dilemma after Florian Wirtz U-turn as Bayern Munich act

Liverpool are in pole position to beat Bayern Munich to a blockbuster deal for Florian Wirtz, but the German champions could retaliate by making a move for Cody Gakpo Bayern Munich will respond to missing out on Florian Wirtz by launching a shock raid on Liverpool to try and sign Cody Gakpo this summer after shelving plans to buy a new No.10. The German giants were viewed as the red-hot favourites to sign Wirtz, 22, if the sought after attacking midfielder decided to move on from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. But that no longer appears to be the case with Wirtz now leaning towards joining Liverpool. ‌ Bayern club president, Herbert Hainer, all but conceded defeat in the club's attempts to land the Germany star over the weekend after revealing that Max Eberl, Bayern's sporting director, had been informed of the player's desire to move to Anfield. ‌ And after making a big U-turn on plans to sign an elite No.10 in Wirtz, Bayern are now in the market for a left-sided forward - and Gakpo fits the bill. The Netherlands star, 26, enjoyed a fine season for the newly minted Premier League champions, amassing 25 goal contributions across 49 games in all competitions. There is also an expectation that Liverpool will make efforts to freshen up their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window which would suggest that some players could move on. However, Mirror Football understands Liverpool boss Arne Slot has little interest in parting ways with Gakpo this summer - but an offer too good to refuse could persuade club chiefs to sell. That figure would likely need to be north of £75million, though, particularly with question marks over the futures of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota. Join the debate! Should Liverpool keep Gakpo or cash in? Let us know here ‌ While Gakpo is of interest to Bayern, the German champions have other names on their radar. Among them is Kaoru Mitoma, the Brighton winger who has dazzled since making his Premier League bow back in 2022. AC Milan's Rafael Leao is another player Bayern are thought to hold an interest in; the Portugal interest was linked with a move to Arsenal over the weekend with Liverpool's domestic rivals also in the market for a new left winger. The Reds are also expecting a flurry of activity ahead of the new campaign with deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez in the works as well as their ongoing pursuit of Wirtz.

Liverpool open to surprise summer exit in huge shake-up of forward line

Liverpool are open to selling Cody Gakpo this summer amid interest from Bayern Munich, as they prepare for big changes to their options in attack. The Reds cantered to the Premier League title this season but they do not intend to rest on their laurels and it could be a busy summer in the transfer market for them. Trent Alexander-Arnold is leaving for Real Madrid and he is unlikely to be the only big name departure, with Darwin Nunez expected to also make a move to Spain. The Uruguay international has struggled for consistency since moving to Anfield and his time at the club appears to be at an end, with an agreement with Atletico Madrid reportedly already reached. Gakpo could also be on the move this summer in a more surprising exit, given that the Netherlands international made a significant contribution at the club this season. The 26-year-old scored 18 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions, which took his tally to 41 in 128 outings since joining the club from PSV in January 2023. Sky Germany report that Gakpo is on Bayern Munich's list of targets as they look for a new left-sided forward and Liverpool will do a deal if an appropriate offer comes in. A move is far from guaranteed as Bayern are also tracking Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma and AC Milan's Rafael Leao, but the report states that contact has already been made over a possible deal for the Dutchman. Gakpo spoke earlier in the season about his improved form under Arne Slot, which he feels is down to playing in his best position, on the left of a front three. 'Obviously now I play on the left side, so I think that's, for me, personally, the biggest change to my advantage. That's what suits me the best, and I think that's where I'm at my best,' he told TNT Sports. 'I went to Liverpool, I played a lot as a central striker, which was new to me. So I had to adapt to being in a new position and also being in a new team, so at times, it was tricky. 'But yeah, I'm very happy that I'm back on the left now and I think that's the biggest change that the manager did for me.' A challenge for Gakpo has been that Luis Diaz is also competing for that position on the left, although Slot has spoken of his delight with how well both players have performed while sharing the role. 'I can completely understand how much focus there is on Mo [Salah]'s performance because that is remarkable, if a player has so many goals and so many assists,' said Slot earlier this year. 'But if you combine the goals of Lucho [Luis Diaz] and Cody when they play as a left winger, they come quite close to the numbers Mo has. More Trending 'Mo's advantage is that because Federico [Chiesa] is not always available he is playing from the first until the last minute, but I think our left-winger position comes quite close to the numbers Mo has.' Liverpool are plotting some big signings this summer, which will mean they have to balance the book with sales as well. The most significant of those signings could prove to be Florian Wirtz, with an official first bid already made to Bayer Leverkusen worth £84m plus add-ons, according to reports. The Reds have also been heavily linked with Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike. Liverpool winger joins the list of potential Bayern transfer targets

Cody Gakpo is on Bayern Munich's list of possible options for the left wing position, Sky Germany believes. The Bavarian club has already contact with the Dutchman, who could leave Liverpool this summer. A price tag of €50-60million is supposedly the asking price put toward by the new Premier League champions. Bavaria would be one of three potential destinations for Gakpo should he leave Liverpool in summer. Vincent Kompany's side have already been linked with names like AC Milan's Rafael Leão and Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton in recent weeks.
