More info The Chase enthusiasts were left seething after noticing a bothersome pattern on the ITV quiz show, prompting them to consider switching channels. The episode on Tuesday (20th May) featured contestants Andy, Jan, Hannah, and Billy, who faced off against Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis in intense one-on-one rounds, with Bradley Walsh overseeing the action. However, things got off to a rocky start as viewers expressed irritation over the Gala Bingo adverts interrupting the show's flow. Despite Gala being a sponsor of The Chase, their commercials didn't go down well with some audience members who vented their frustrations online, reports the Express. (Image: (Image: ITV)) One viewer took to Twitter to express their annoyance: "Absolutely sick to death of those #Galabingo ads before, after and during #thechase. Enough is enough please." Another shared their sentiment, commenting on the urge to switch off: "It has my finger twitching towards the remote to change the channel every time... sometimes I don't stop myself lol." A third chimed in with a scathing remark about the Gala Bingo ad star: "Imagine being the Gala Bingo quiz woman and having to put 'Really good at being absolutely f***ing annoying' on your CV.." An additional tweet read: "Does anyone else agree with me that the woman on the Gala Bingo sponsor between the ads of The Chase is cringefully unfunny?" Meanwhile, another viewer called for a change: "Isn't it about time the chase had a new sponsor, Gala Bingo isn't funny anymore as it's incredibly annoying." (Image: (Image: ITV)) Although she had performed well in the cash builder round, Hannah decided to play it safe with the low offer of £1,000, turning down the more enticing sum of £51,000 offered by the chaser. This move sparked criticism from viewers, with some labelling it a "complete waste of time". In contrast, her teammates and Darragh praised her "sensible" decision. Hannah narrowly missed the final chase by just one question, prompting Bradley to remark on the wisdom of her cautious approach and call it a "great choice." Darragh later said online: "People who haven't been on the show don't understand the show. The money isn't real until you win it. You have shown that taking the lower offer is often the right decision." The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1.
