Galaxy M36 likely to launch soon, gets spotted on Samsung India site

Samsung may be close to launching the Galaxy M36 in India, as the smartphone has now appeared on the company's official support site. The listing doesn't reveal the phone's specifications but confirms its model number – SM-M366B/DS – and signals that the launch could take place in the coming this isn't the first time the Galaxy M36 has surfaced online. In April, the device was spotted on Geekbench, revealing that it runs on Samsung's in-house Exynos 1380 chipset. This is a notable change from the Galaxy A36, which features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, suggesting that the two phones might differ beyond just battery capacity — unlike last year's Galaxy M35 and A35, which were largely identical apart from the M35's bigger Geekbench listing further hinted at 6GB RAM and Android 15 onboard, with Samsung's One UI 7 skin expected on top. The phone also scored 1,004 in single-core and 2,886 in multi-core performance tests, offering a glimpse into its processing power. Graphics will reportedly be handled by the Arm Mali G68 addition to this, the Galaxy M36 has also been certified by India's BIS and the Bluetooth SIG, which usually suggests the device is in the final stages before an official launch. Given that the Galaxy M35 was unveiled in late May last year, a similar timeline for the M36 would not be surprising. With all signs pointing to an imminent launch, Samsung's Galaxy M36 may soon arrive in Samsung hasn't officially shared the full spec sheet, it could borrow some features from its Galaxy A36 sibling if we go by the previous Galaxy M device's strategy. The Galaxy M36 could offer a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,900 nits. For photography, we might see a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. On the front could be a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. Storage variants may include 128GB and 256GB, possibly with RAM going up to 12GB for the top Galaxy M-series is typically launched as an online-first offering, and the M36 may follow suit with an Amazon India exclusive release. In terms of pricing, the M35 was announced at Rs 19,999 in India. While the final price of the M36 is yet to be confirmed, it's expected to be positioned in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment.

Samsung's next affordable smartphone could be interesting if cheap enough

Samsung inundated the Indian market with budget-friendly and mid-range Android smartphones. Although many of these devices will remain exclusively available in India, slightly different variants of the phone usually make it to other countries, but under different names. It has become a tradition for Samsung to launch a bunch of M series phones in India, which, in many cases, are just reskinned versions of other Galaxy A handsets. An example that comes to mind is the Galaxy M35 and Galaxy A35, which are almost the same device. But there's a reason that we've mentioned the Galaxy M35 in relation to the Indian market. Samsung is preparing to launch a sequel to the Galaxy M35, which is likely to be available via Amazon India. The folks at Xpertpick recently discovered the Galaxy M36 is already listed on Samsung India's website. Only the model number (SM-M366B/DS) is mentioned on the webpage, so there's no telling whether or not this will be a major upgrade over the Galaxy M35. The only things we know so far about the Galaxy M36 is that it will pack 6 GB RAM and an Exynos 1380 processor. This information appeared for the first time in Geekbench's database, so it's quite accurate. In fact, since the phone already has its own support page and the predecessor made its debut exactly one year ago, it's possible that the Galaxy M36 will be unveiled this month. As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy M series phones usually borrow a lot of the Galaxy A series' specs. However, the Galaxy M36 is supposed to pack an Exynos 1380 chipset, while the Galaxy A36 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. It remains to be seen how the Galaxy A36 will look like and whether or not it will bring meaningful upgrades over the Galaxy A35 (probably not). Now, if the phone is just as cheap as the Galaxy A35, then that will make it more appealing for customers.

The Galaxy M36 now listed on Samsung's official website, launch is imminent

Vlad 16 May 2025 Samsung Android Samsung's Galaxy M36 was spotted in the Geekbench database in April with a surprising chipset choice - it's powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC, which means it won't just be an A36 with a larger battery (that's what happened last year with the M35 and A35). Today, the Galaxy M36 has received its very own support page on Samsung's Indian website. This signifies an imminent launch. The phone has the model number SM-M366B/DS. It was also recently certified by the Bluetooth SIG, as well as India's BIS. As usual with the M series, upon launch this device may be exclusive to Amazon India for a (short) while. The aforementioned Geekbench listing also revealed that the M36 will have 6GB of RAM and will launch running Android 15 with One UI 7 on top. Last year, its predecessor arrived towards the end of May, so we wouldn't be at all surprised if that's when the M36 is getting official as well.
