Rockstar insider claims the delay in releasing GTA 6 was 'absolutely necessary '
Image via Rockstar Games. GTA 6 was initially slated to be released in the fall of 2025. However, that is not going to happen because Rockstar Games has now pushed the release window to May 2026. GTA 6 is going to be the eighth mainline entry in the long-hailed franchise and a highly awaited installment after 2013. So, there is no doubt that fans were clinging to the 2025 release date firmly. As a result, after the delay hit the title, a fair share of fans became hugely disappointed. However, a credible insider from the gaming industry has claimed this delay was 'absolutely necessary.' Why was the delay in releasing GTA 6 'absolutely necessary' The delay to release GTA 6 was needed. | Image via Rockstar Games. It's been more than a decade since we last got a mainline installment from the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Reports suggest after the huge success of Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018, Rockstar started developing GTA 6 immediately. That means GTA 6 is now 7 years in its development phase, and according to the present release date, Rockstar Games is taking eight years to release this game, which is massive. This is also quite obvious keeping in mind the stature of the title as GTA 6 is probably going to be the biggest release in the video game history. When fans got the first trailer in December 2023, they became extremely excited as the trailer revealed the release window of the game as well. However, Rockstar has recently revealed that the game is hit with a sudden delay, making fans disappointed. However, credible Rockstar insider GameRoll believes this delay was 'absolutely necessary.' This is the same insider who correctly predicted the surnames of the two protagonists of the game, that too in April, when neither the release date nor the Trailer 2 was released. So, there shouldn't be any doubt on GameRoll's credibility. The insider also stated that GTA 6 would have been 'significantly worse' if it had been released in 2025. In order to meet the initial deadline, developers started cutting 'a lot of cool stuff' from the game, which would have been pretty unfortunate for the fans. However, fans now believe that as the game is pushed to a May 2026 release window, all the cut content will be brought back in the game as well.
One thing I'll also say is that this source made it very clear to me that a delay to 2026 was ABSOLUTELY we had gotten GTA 6 in 2025, it would have been a significantly worse game. GTA 6 fans roast gameplay trailer for new game
Grand Theft Auto VI may still be a few months away from its apparent release but in the meantime, this brand-new title - which has been compared to the hit Rockstar series - is keeping fans entertained. Though perhaps for all the wrong reasons. Check out the story trailer for below! With its many comparisons to Grand Theft Auto VI, MindsEye is an upcoming narrative-driven, single-player action-adventure thriller by developer Build a Rocket Boy. Set to be released on 10 June, 2025, MindsEye is set in the near-future in the fictional desert town of Redrock and much like Grand Theft Auto, it will feature 'best-in-class cinematics, high octane driving, and explosive combat'. Since it was first revealed at Gamescom 2022 by ex-Rockstar dev Leslie Benzies, MindsEye has been compared to Grand Theft Auto and by looking at one of its many trailers, it is not hard to understand why. With explosive car chases, high-octane shooting and a narrative adventure which hopes to keep players enthralled, this upcoming title will be the perfect thing to keep us busy until GTA VI launches later in the year. However, earlier this week saw Build a Rocket Boy release our first look at the gameplay that can be found in MindsEye ahead of its full trailer coming soon and it is safe to say that viewers are less than impressed. The 30-second clip that was posted on the Everywhere NET Twitter account soon garnered some attention but perhaps not the attention devs had planned on. 'This lowkey looks like a fake game that Jimmy would be playing in his room in GTA 5,' user Synth Potato commented. User GameRoll shared the sentiment, adding, 'They really said no recoil ... Mafia 3 gameplay but somehow worse, I don't like this lol.' However, user Only Official was feeling slightly more optimistic. 'A little rough around the edges but .. not bad,' they wrote. "Need to see something more exciting though.' However, with just two months to go until MindsEye launches, it seems as though it will have to prove itself a bit more if it wants a successful release day.
