LG's Gaming Portal Expands Beyond Smart TVs to Monitors and Lifestyle Screens in 2025
With Xbox Cloud Gaming joining GeForce NOW and Amazon Luna, LG's Gaming Portal becomes a major player in cloud gaming. Previously, the gaming portal was only available on LG Smart TVs (webOS 23+), but now it's moving into LG Smart Monitors and StanbyME lifestyle screens. The Gaming Portal is currently available in 19 markets, and will be brought to even more by mid-year, although no exact date was announced. Using the cloud, LG's Gaming Portal lets you access services like NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, and Boosteroid. Although a date wasn't provided, Xbox Cloud will also be added to the service. Xbox's addition isn't surprising considering the company's recent marketing push to put the service on as many platforms as possible, even including Amazon Fire TVs. Through these services you can stream a variety of AAA and indie games directly to your TV, without any need for a console. The Gaming Portal also has some games built-in directly, so you won't even need to launch the various services. You can play with both a remote or a Game Pad. One of the Gaming Portal's key features is how easy it is to navigate, letting users filter games based on which kind of controller they want to use, as well as sections for trending games, editor's picks, tailored suggestions, and more. That tailored experience is described by LG a bit more. In terms of other features, a press release from LG states, 'For a personalized experience, My Page acts as a central hub for tracking achievements, earning badges and more.2 Gamers can see a comprehensive summary of their progress, points, levels and tier upgrades based on their activity within the Gaming Portal, enriching their overall gaming journey. The My Games menu of My Page also allows users to create a personalized game list tailored to their interests, so they don't miss out on their most anticipated titles. '
