Audience at Bhuj event
Among people who attended PM Narendra Modi's event in Bhuj on Monday were over 2,600 workers and their families who were mobilised from the Deendayal Port, Kandla — nearly 75 km from the venue. 'This is the first time port workers voluntarily attended an event of the Prime Minister in such a large scale,' Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) spokesperson Om Prakash Dadlani told this paper. Not only the workers — who were ferried in nearly 50 state transport buses and private vehicles — but also over 300 ministerial staff attended the event where PM Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 1,100 crore of the DPA. Workers were happy to hear the PM mention about the Kandla port in his speech, DPA authorities said.
