Man (50s) dies after being struck by a car in Co Offaly last night
A MAN IN his 50s has died after being struck by a car in Co Offaly last night. The incident happened shortly after 11pm on the N62 at Killeenboy, Cloghan, Co. Offaly. The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was brought to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. No other injuries were reported. Advertisement Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently carrying out a technical examination of the scene and the road remains closed. Local diversions are in place and motorists, particularly drivers of heavy goods vehicles, are asked to travel via Tullamore, Co Offaly. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and any road users who may have camera or dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 10pm to 11.30pm are asked to make this footage available. A man aged in his 50s has died following a crash in Co Offaly on Wednesday night. The incident, involving a pedestrian and a car, occurred on the N62 at Killeenboy, Cloghan shortly after 11pm. Gardaí investigate death of cyclist, 60s, killed in Dublin crash
A cyclist in his 60s had died following a fatal crash with a car on the R139 in Dublin 17 on Monday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after gardaí and emergency services showed around 8pm. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have since examined the scene and traffic diversions have been lifted. The man was transported to the Dublin City Mortuary, where an autopsy will be arranged. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Tributes paid to young man (18) killed in Dublin road collision
Jason Monks (18) from Jobstown in West Dublin died in the incident which occurred at approximately 8pm on Sunday night A heartbroken mother has paid an emotional tribute to her son who died in an horrific collision between a scrambler and a car yesterday Sunday April 20th . Jason Monks (18) from Jobstown in West Dublin died in the incident which occurred at approximately 8pm on Sunday night April 20th on Citywest Avenue in Citywest, Co Dublin. Mr Monks was the driver of the scrambler bike. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital following the crash where he was later pronounced dead. In an emotional tribute his mother Donna Monks wrote: ''O lord please let this be a big bad dream that big strong boy was my baby there was nothing in this world he wouldn't do for his mammy my heart is shattered into a million bits I can't cope why my handsome young man why''. She added ''My beautiful baby boy, how is my life ever going to be the same ever again. 18 years of loving best 18 years of my life. I will always love you.... always my beautiful boy''. Jason's partner's grandad Mark Lutrell wrote ''Our Granddaughter Shannon lost her partner and our great Granddaughter Everliegh lost her Dad Jason Monks last night. We are heartbroken for them and Jason's family." "A lovely young man with the biggest heart, and a smile and laugh that would cheer you up in the worst of days. A person who would do anything to help anyone who needed it. "We are heartbroken but also smiling when we see the things people have up in Facebook and videos which will help in the coming time.
