A man in his 30s and a woman in her late teens were arrested by gardaí following the seizure of 12kg of herbal cannabis by Revenue officers in separate locations in Swords, Co Dublin, on Monday, June 9th. The cannabis has an estimated value of €240,000, and the seizure was the result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Revenue's Customs Service and Coolock District Drug Unit. A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the seizure of around 90kgs of cannabis in Co Louth. He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996. Revenue officers seized the drugs, which had an estimated value of €1.8m, on May 12 as part of a joint intelligence-led operation with the Garda National Drugs, Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Louth Divisional Drugs Unit. The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis. Investigations are ongoing.

Two held over seizure of cannabis valued at up to €10m in Co Clare

Two people are being questioned by gardaí following the seizure of cannabis understood to be valued at between €7 million and €10 million in Co Clare. The drugs were recovered in the Meelick area, a short distance from the border with Co Limerick. The seizure was part of a planned joint operation led by Revenue and Customs officials and gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, supported by colleagues attached to the Limerick Garda Divisional Drugs Unit and Gardaí in Co Clare. One person is being held at a Garda station in Limerick, the other is being detained in Co Clare. READ MORE Sources said the investigation was 'ongoing'. Gardaí were asked for comment and did not immediately respond. A spokesperson at Revenue said a press release would be issued later on today.
