Pietermaritzburg cash-in-transit heist: Violent attack leaves one dead and six injured
Emergency services and law enforcement on the scene of the cash-in-transit robbery on the R56 near Richmond, where multiple vehicles were damaged and one person was fatally shot. An alleged cash-in-transit heist erupted into gunfire and chaos on the R56 near the second Bainesfield offramp outside Richmond just after 5:15pm on Wednesday, leaving one man dead and six others injured. ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says emergency responders from the Cato Ridge Hospital Base rushed to the scene after receiving numerous calls of an alleged Cash in Transit robbery. 'Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos and carnage,' said Jamieson. 'The scene was spread over some distance with multiple vehicles damaged as a result of bullet holes as well as crashes, including the damaged cash vehicle.'

Heavily armed gang of 12 attacks CIT van on N2 in KZN A section of the N2 highway near the KwaMashu interchange in KZN was closed to traffic on Friday evening following a violent CIT heist involving gunfire, explosives, and a group of heavily armed suspects. Reports indicate that the gang of about 12 ambushed the vehicle, forced it to stop, and detonated explosives to access the cash inside before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money, Northglen News reports. The incident occurred around 18:00, according to controllers at Ensure Security's E2 KZN Operational Command Centre, who received multiple alerts of gunfire and explosions in the area. 'Emergency services rushed to the southbound carriageway, where they discovered the wreckage of an armoured cash van that had been blown apart by explosives. Reports indicate that about 12 suspects were involved in the robbery,' said Ensure Security spokesperson Kyle van Reenan. Paramedics from ALS Paramedic Services treated the cash van guards for minor to moderate injuries on scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further care. ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, said medics responded to numerous calls of an alleged cash in transit robbery on the N2 in the vicinity of KwaMashu. 'Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS already in attendance with the entire southbound carriageway closed. A cash vehicle had been blown up by unknown suspects. Video: Family of 3 shot near KZN township after vehicle breaks down, 2 dead A family of three were shot after their vehicle broke down while travelling along the R603 near Adams Mission and Illovo township in KZN yesterday. 'Paramedics were called to assist multiple members of a family who had been shot. It is alleged that the vehicle had broken down on the R603, and they were then approached by gunmen and shot multiple times,' says ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson. 'The family ran for their lives and unfortunately both the father and the son sustained multiple gunshot wounds and [were] declared deceased on the scene. The mom sustained serious gunshot wounds to her lower legs.' South Coast Sun reports that she was stabilised on the scene. Gunshot shells were seen along the road near the scene. The cause of the shooting is unknown. Police were on the scene and the shooting is being investigated. Father and son shot dead, mother wounded in KZN attack
The shooting happened just after 3pm on Monday on the R603 near Adam's Mission and Illovu South of Durban. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an attack on three members of the same family in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). It is understood that the father and son died during the attack on Monday, while the mother sustained gunshot wounds. Shooting The shooting happened just after 3pm on Monday on the R603 near Adam's Mission and Umbumbulu, south of Durban. ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said it is alleged that the family's vehicle had broken down when they were approached by gunmen who opened fire. 'The family attempted to flee whilst the gunmen continued shooting and following them. Paramedics were shown to a house just below the roadway, where they found a female in her forties who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her lower legs. 'She was stabilised on the scene before being transported to a nearby Hospital for further care that she required,' Jamieson said. 'Paramedics found a male believed to be in his twenties who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was declared deceased on the scene. Paramedics were then shown to the riverbank, where they found a male believed to be the father of the family. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was also declared deceased on the scene. 'At this stage, the events leading up to the shooting is unknown, however, Saps were on the scene and will be investigating further,' Jamieson said. Reward offered Meanwhile, police have offered a R350 000 reward for any information leading to the whereabouts of three missing constables. National police commissioner General Fannie Masemola announced during a press briefing on Sunday. The trio, consisting of 24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda, 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys, and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge, were travelling in a white VW Polo sedan from Bloemfontein to their area of deployment in Limpopo when they went missing. Highway Mail reports that the house is on Inverliegh Road. ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says the eThekwini Fire Department and CPF members were at the scene and extinguished the fire. According to Jamieson, two people were treated for smoke inhalation. Multiple dogs were entrapped in the house, and they were unable to get out, says Jamieson.
