Texas Tech baseball vs. Cincinnati: Live updates, how to watch Big 12 tournament game
Many times in the past several years, the Big 12 tournament has been a no-pressure affair for Texas Tech baseball teams which were either certain to host an NCAA regional or at least make one.
The Red Raiders' priorities are different at the Big 12 tournament that starts Wednesday, May 21, and runs through Saturday, May 24, at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Tech (20-32) has to win the thing to keep its season going, starting with a first-round game against Cincinnati (31-23) at 12:30 p.m. May 21.

Beyond that, the Red Raiders are almost past the point of dodging a 40-year program low for futility. The 20 wins are Tech's fewest since the 1985 team finished 18-33. Tech's current winning percentage (.385) is its lowest since the '85 team's .353 in Gary Ashby's next-to-last year as coach.
Beating Cincinnati in the Big 12 tournament opener would bump up the Red Raiders to their fewest wins since the 1987 team, Larry Hays' first, went 21-28.

This week, the Big 12 announced the conference tournament will move next year to Surprise Stadium in the Phoenix suburb of Surprise, Arizona. The 10,714-seat is the spring-training home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals.
On the eve of the tournament, the Big 12 released the all-conference team voted on by the head coaches. Cincinnati third baseman Kerrington Cross was named the Big 12 player of the year and a unanimous selection on the first team. The first team also included Tech left fielder Logan Hughes and right fielder Damian Bravo. The second team included Cincinnati catcher Jack Natili, Tech first baseman Robin Villeneuve and Tech relief pitcher Jack Cebert.
