One arrested following St. Charles Parish fatal crash
ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A man has been arrested following a fatal crash that happened in St. Charles Parish on Tuesday evening, April 29.
According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop B began investigating the crash, which happened on Interstate 310 north near US 61, just after 8 p.m.
The initial investigation shows that 43-year-old Gary Entremont of Montz was allegedly driving a 2024 Dodge Ram recklessly and hit the rear of a Honda sedan, causing it to catch fire.
St. Tammany home damaged in two-alarm fire
A front seat passenger of the Honda, identified as 29-year-old Kenia Alvarado, of Metairie, died on scene. Additionally, the driver was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. It is unknown if the two individuals were properly restrained.
Entremont was restrained during the crash and received mild injuries. Investigators say at a local hospital, he showed signs of impairment and was arrested. He was booked into the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on charges of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, driving while impaired, negligent homicide and negligent injuring.
