Seagull has swastika daubed on its head by sick jailbird at prison that was home to the Krays, Peter Sutcliffe and Gary Glitter
Jailbirds at a prison once home to Peter Sutcliffe and Gary Glitter have drawn a swastika on the head of a mutilated seagull. The Lesser Backed Gull - called Belinda - was found dead at HMP Isle of Wight in Newport with a few feathers pulled out meaning she can no longer fly. It comes amid claims birds on site are often captured before being boiled in prisoners' kettles within their cells, Island Echo reports. HMP Isle of Wight is a Category B prison with over 1,000 inmates - many of whom are sex offenders. East End gangsters The Krays, Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe and disgraced pop star Gary Glitter previously served time there. The nasty inmate grabbed hold of Belinda last Friday and then drew the Nazi symbol between her eyes. The poor animal is now being looked after at Skippers Sanctuary - a local charity that takes care of wild birds. One volunteer claimed: 'If it were humans they were doing this to, they would get time added to their sentence. 'But because their victim is not a human, no one in a position to take action seems to think it warrants any.' Belinda is now said to be eating and has been allowed outside under the watch of the charity staff. A spokesman for the charity said: 'She's doing well. She's very traumatised but she's making progress every day. 'Sadly she is likely to have had babies in the nest. 'Without feathers to fly with, she will need to stay with us for months to grow them back.' Last June, a bird called Sunshine was covered in yellow paint at the prison, prompting disgust from locals. Gordon Standley said 'add 10 years on to all their sentences while Debbie York added 'absolutely barbaric'. Ann Evans said: 'How absolutely dreadful.' It remains unclear how exactly the birds were captured. In 2012 it was reported how Isle of Wight prisoners were being allowed to keep pet budgies, canaries and parrots in their cells.

Oasis 'dropping iconic song from tour set list' due to Gary Glitter connection
Oasis reportedly decided to remove one of their hit songs from their reunion tour set list due to its connection to disgraced singer Gary Glitter Oasis are reportedly removed a hit song from the set list of their long-awaited reunion tour due to it's connection to Gary Glitter. Liam and Noel Gallagher shocked the entire world last year when they announced they brushed their feud under the rug to get back together for a huge tour. The duo haven't performed together since 2009 and fans are eager to hear all their favourite songs live for the first time in years. However, Oasis reportedly decided to remove their hit song, Hello, from their reunion tour set list due to its connection to disgraced singer Gary Glitter. Hello is the opening track from their 1995 album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and includes lyrics from Gary's 1973 song Hello, I'm Back Again along with the melody of the original song playing in it. The disgraced 80-year-old was jailed in 2015 for the sexual abuse of three schoolgirls and was released automatically in 2023 after serving half of his 16-year sentence. Glitter was recalled to HMP The Verne, a specialist sex offender prison in Dorset, within weeks after breaking his licensing conditions by allegedly downloading images of children online. He is now due to go before the Parole Board in the coming months when he could be cleared for release. The news that Glitter could be released from jail again will come as a blow to his victims. Glitter is entitled to a parole hearing every two years until 2031 when he will have served his full sentence. Speaking to The Sun about Hello being 'removed' from the set list, a source claimed the band chose to 'leave it in the past'. They said: "It would be inappropriate to play it given its connotations to Glitter and his convictions." The Mirror have reached out to Oasis' reps for comment. Meanwhile, Oasis fans have been speculating about the set list on Reddit as they eagerly await the tour to begin. A passionate fan wrote on Reddit: "Honestly, I think Gas Panic! at Wembley 2000 is the best live song Oasis ever did. The whole vibe is unreal-dark, trippy, powerful. That intro alone feels like you're about to witness something big, and then Liam comes in and just absolutely owns it. "When he sings 'an hour to sing for his soul'... man, it's majestic. Gives me chills every time. He doesn't just sing it-he means it. You can feel the weight in his voice. "It's one of those moments where everything hits perfectly: his delivery, the band's energy, the crowd going mad. "It also shows how good Standing on the Shoulder of Giants material could be live-seriously underrated stuff." However, some ardent followers are quick to point out that given lead vocalist Liam Gallagher's evolving singing voice, the triumphant return of this specific number might not happen.
