Huddersfield's final gas holder being demolished
Huddersfield's last remaining gas holder is in the process of being pulled to dismantle the familiar landmark on the town's skyline recently started on Gasworks Street, off Leeds disused 127ft (39m) structure is the last of 47 to be demolished by Northern Gas Networks, with the nearby Gas Club venue taken down in October last town once had five towering circular frames, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said, with the gas firm removing them in a bid to cut down on risk and maintenance costs.
