This award-winning Argentine restaurant opened another location in Miami
An Argentine restaurant known for its barbecue has just opened its third location in Miami.
La Cabrera, which has more than 28 locations around the world, recently opened in Miami Midtown, bringing with it a new twist on Argentine grilling and barbecue.
Chef and restaurateur Gaston Riveira opened the first La Cabrera in 2002 at the corner of Cabrera and Thames in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires with the idea of reimagining the use of the Argentine parrilla (a metal or iron grill grate over hot coals or wood embers).
La Cabrera went on to become an international hit, with locations around the world in Spain, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, the Philippines, Chile, Mexico and the United States.
The restaurant also locations in Coconut Grove and Sunny Isles Beach and has earned a host of accolades, including being named the best steakhouse in Buenos Aires in 2018, a spot on Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants and a TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award in 2022. In 2023 and 2024, it was named on the World's Best Steak Restaurants list.
So what can you expect at the Midtown La Cabrera? Different cuts from different breeds: Red Angus, Black Angus, wagyu, Nebraska, Brangus and Hereford. Some items are cooked on charcoal and wood grills, like sausage and short ribs, ribeye, New York strip, filet mignon, skirt steak, chicken and wagyu.
Other items make use of the Josper grill, like the grilled shrimp, salmon and tuna. There are also a selection of pastas, salads and side dishes. There's also a robust dessert menu, if you need sweets to counteract all that meat.
