Celebrate St. Louis returns to downtown for Fourth of July without 141-year-old parade

ST. LOUIS — Celebrate Saint Louis is returning downtown this summer for the Fourth of July celebration on July 3 and July 4 but will not include the America's Birthday Parade. The Independence Day celebration will have live entertainment and family-friendly activities and wrap up with a fireworks show with the Gateway Arch as its backdrop. One major change to this year's events is the celebration will not include the America's Birthday Parade, breaking a 141-year-old tradition. The two-day event will also honor active-duty service members and veterans during a Salute the Troops ceremony. Man claims he crashed stolen car to rid it of a demon Live entertainment will feature national and local talent, including country hitmaker Russell Dickerson and Gavin DeGraw, known for hits like 'I Don't Want to Be' and 'Not Over You.'
