Discussions focused on aligning Iraq's message at the summit with its national priorities and broader regional role. Participants proposed forming a high-level Arab committee to address unresolved regional challenges and called for a more active role by the Arab League in advancing regional cooperation. Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq's support for the Palestinian people and proposed a joint Arab initiative to help rebuild Gaza's infrastructure, including hospitals and schools. The initiative, titled the 'Gaza Reconstruction Conference,' is expected to be presented as part of the summit's final communiqué. Al-Mashhadani welcomed the government's rapid preparations and confirmed the full backing of parliament and political blocs to support the summit and ensure its success.

INA - SOURCES During the tripartite summit held in Cairo on Monday, the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and France called for an immediate return to the ceasefire in Gaza. "An immediate return to the ceasefire to protect Palestinians, ensure their immediate and full receipt of emergency humanitarian assistance, and implement the ceasefire agreement signed on January 19," called the leaders of Egypt, France, and Jordan in a joint statement - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. The leaders emphasized that "the protection of civilians and humanitarian aid workers, as well as ensuring the full delivery of aid, are obligations that must be fulfilled under international law and international humanitarian law." The three leaders expressed "their grave concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the West Bank and East Al-Quds," calling for "an end to all unilateral measures that undermine the possibility of achieving a two-state solution and increase tensions." They also emphasized "the need to respect the historical status quo of the holy sites in Al-Quds," expressing their "rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land and any attempt to annex Palestinian territories." The leaders called for "international support for the Gaza Reconstruction Plan, adopted by the Arab Summit held in Cairo on March 4 and adopted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on March 7." They discussed mechanisms for its effective implementation of security and governance." They emphasized that "governance and the maintenance of order and security in Gaza, as well as in all Palestinian territories, must be exclusively under the umbrella of an empowered Palestinian National Authority, with strong regional and international support." They also expressed their "readiness to assist in this regard in coordination with partners." The leaders reiterated the "need to thicken these efforts at the June conference, to be co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia," expressing their "support for the Gaza Reconstruction Conference to be held in Cairo shortly."

CAIRO – 7 April 2025: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held on Monday with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron a press conference at Al-Ittihadiya Palace as they lauded the Egyptian-French relations and announced elevating it to the level of 'strategic partnership'. In his speech, President Sisi said that elevating relations with France to a 'strategic partnership' is an important step toward achieving the aspirations of both countries. He added that he agreed with Macron to implement all aspects of the strategic partnership between the two countries. Sisi welcomed Macron and his accompanying delegation, and noted that during their meetings, they reviewed bilateral relations, particularly strengthening French investments in Egypt. 'We discussed the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the need to restore the ceasefire,' Sisi said, explaining that they also discussed the Gaza Reconstruction Conference, which Egypt will be hosting following the cessation of hostilities within the Strip. President Sisi extended during the press conference, his thanks and appreciation to the French side for their support for the Palestinian people. Both leaders emphasized during their meeting the need to return to the ceasefire in Gaza and allow the entry of humanitarian aid. They also agreed to reject calls to displace Palestinians from their lands. Sisi confirmed that promoting peace in the Middle East will not be achieved without a just settlement for the Palestinian issue. Regarding Syria, Sisi said that emphasized with Macron the need for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Syrian territory. Both leaders also affirmed full support for the new Lebanese president and government, and the need to cease hostilities in the country. Sisi says that he discussed with Macron developments related to the water security file and the Egyptian position, which believes that the Nile River is a 'historical link' that must achieve benefit for all, while taking into account the specificity of Egypt's dependence on the Nile River. French President Emmanuel Macron said he 'will be happy to visit Al Arish to be in such near location to support civilians in Gaza,' Macron condemned in his speech at the press conference the resumption of Israeli strikes in Gaza and called for respecting the ceasefire, releasing of hostages in Gaza, and a return to negotiations as soon as possible. 'I would like to reiterate our support for the Gaza reconstruction plan, and that we will participate in the Gaza reconstruction conference,' Macron said. He added that France supports the transitional process toward a unified, stable, and sovereign Syria, while rejecting any foreign interference. 'We are also committed to the sovereignty and stability of Lebanon and reject all hostile and terrorist acts.' Regarding the water security issue, Macron said that France will exert utmost efforts and work to find solutions so that the Nile waters shared equitably among neighboring countries. The French president noted that he supports an end to the war in Ukraine because of the difficult repercussions and consequences of this war. 'I salute the steadfastness of the Egyptian international positions, as well as the clarity and firmness with which you proceed, without any double standards,' Macron concluded. Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at Ittihadia Palace on Monday French President Emmanuel Macron, amid an official reception ceremony, where the national anthems of both countries were played. The two leaders held a bilateral meeting followed by a session of plenary talks between the two countries' delegations. They also witnessed the signing of several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries. A tripartite summit is expected to be held between President Sisi, Macron and King Abdullah of Jordan after the end of the Egyptian-French summit, to discuss conditions in the region including the developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

CAIRO, March 23 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip. During the prime minister's meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Mustafa the two sides took up on ongoing efforts to maintain the ceasefire and rebuild the Gaza Strip. Palestinian ambassador to Cairo Diab Al-Louh took part in the meeting. The Egyptian premier said, the Gaza Strip reconstruction plan will involve further coordination with regional and international parties, as well as Palestinian counterparts, to finalize the implementation details. He also stressed crucial need to uphold the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to halt further bloodshed of the Palestinian people and kickstart the early recovery and reconstruction efforts. Meanwhile, the Palestinian prime minister emphasized the importance of upholding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to ensure progress in the early recovery and reconstruction efforts. During the meeting, the Palestinian prime minister discussed ongoing coordination efforts with several Arab, Muslim countries, as well as international stakeholders regarding the Gaza Strip situation, in preparation for the Gaza Reconstruction Conference. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination in the coming period to support efforts aimed at implementing the reconstruction plan and sustaining the ceasefire.
