Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated in a March 22, 2025, interview with Al-Arabiya Network (Saudi Arabia) that the era of Hizbullah imposing its decisions and positions on the Lebanese government has ended. He noted that there is no longer a government statement regarding cooperation between the Lebanese army, people, and resistance. Salam emphasized the importance of the state's monopoly on weapons and asserted that only the government has the authority to decide on matters of war and peace. He also pointed out that Lebanon has paid a high price for supporting the Gaza Support Axis, which, according to him, neither supported Gaza nor defended Lebanon.
