SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Geek'd Con is a few months away, but to get in the mood, fans should check out some of Netflix's recent releases. Shreveport's Geek'd Con returns, what you need to know Geek'd Con will be held in Shreveport, providing fans with an opportunity to dive into an immersive experience filled with pop culture and comics. Additionally, Netflix's latest release, 'Love, Death & Robots,' is likely to captivate fans alike. The streaming giant has recently launched a new season of this popular animated anthology series, which first premiered in 2019. 'Love, Death & Robots' explores various genres, including science fiction, horror, fantasy, and comedy. Since its debut, the show has garnered a significant following, with each episode telling a unique story featuring different characters, settings, plots, and artistic styles. Two episodes worth checking out are from season 4: episodes four and nine. Episode four, titled '400 Boys,' is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world where gangs battle for territory. This episode reflects today's political climate and explores themes of unity and survival within society. East Texas Comic Con: celebrities, autographs, and cosplay contests in Longview
LONGVIEW, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — For years, local fans of comics, anime, and nerd culture in general had few places to go. The East Texas Comic Con in Longview is one of them. Shreveport's Geek'd Con returns, what you need to know The event will feature autograph sessions and meet-and-greets with celebrities from the world of voice acting, horror movies, professional wrestling, and more. SocialCon ambassadors seek to learn, inspire at upcoming event Patrons can participate in anything from board games and trading card games to video game tournaments, or walk across the cosplay stage for a chance at prizes and photo ops. Shreveport's Geek'd Con returns, what you need to know
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, is returning downtown for its tenth year. According to Geek'd Con's founder Greg Atoms, the event began in the spring of 2015 and saw over 10,000 cosplayers and fans descend on the Shreveport Convention Center. Last year, one of our anchors met Josh Martin, the voice behind Dragon Ball Z's Majin Buu, and David Morrissey, the voice behind Walking Dead's The Governor. Meet the stars of Shreveport's Geek'd Con (2024) Geek'd Con will return to Shreveport Convention Center August 22-24, 2025. It is a family-friendly event that encourages attendees to cosplay. However, to ensure everyone's safety, projectiles, sharp objects, and dangerous accessories are strictly prohibited. Refer to the full cosplay rules for more information.
